Police are investigating a Saturday shooting in Mesa to find out if it's connected with the Serial Shooter, who has targeted parts of the Valley since May 2005.

"We are not 100 percent sure if it is linked, but we want to err on the side of caution and let the community know it's a possibility," said Mesa Sgt. Chuck Trapani.

Like the 34 shootings in the West Valley, Phoenix and Scottsdale that police believe were committed by a serial killer, Mesa's recent shooting occurred in the early morning to a victim who was alone.

I've about had it with the Phoenix police and the Maricopa Cnty Sheriff.

The are being TOOOO secretive.

For instance, pictures of victims show it's a shotgun that's being used...we also know NOT A SINGLE VICTIM can give any info on the shooter (implying he's either shooting from cover OR after the car has passed from the OPPOSITE direction).

All of this is RELEVENT info for those who desire, and are able, to defend themselves. And none of it compromises the law enforcement activities to catch the perp.

I am angry and perplexed as to why more details are not being released...

There was a story last night out of Queen Creek about two women who narrowly escaped from some guy who had a gun and was in the back of their vehicle. The description made me think of the Baseline Killer, but I guess that one was just a coincidence.
