Recently, when the two were together on some talk show, I heard Charles describe how he and Michael Jordon differ on their philosophy of helping others. The gist of it was: Charles sees a beggar on the street and hands him a thousand dollars. MJ sees the same man on the street and tells him to get up and go to work to earn the thousand dollars. MJ didn't deny it.

I've read on FR that MJ is a Democrat, and that Charles was a Republican until a few days ago. However, it seems that MJ is an elephant at heart and CB is a donkey.

OUTDEBATED MICHAEL SAVAGE? I SAW THAT 'DEBATE" Barkley called Savage a racist and Savage responded by calling him a dumb basketball player-put him in his place. Perhaps u were being facious but Barkley says good things-just think about those that ended up on the other side. (eg: Huffington and the idiot who wrote"The real Anita Hill"

it doesn't matter what they are.....all Dems follow the party line.......get everyone's money and give it to your friends.....

the Dems are all about the rich and powerful controlling the "little" people...

an no matter how "conservative" a Dem sounds, they don't vote that way, they don't vote for conservative judges and you're wasting your vote if you support them....just like all our wonderful friends who voted in Clintoon by voting for that little snake, Perot.....

No, I look beyond the name calling. On pure facts, Barkley came across as the more intelligent one. He held his composure when Savage lost it. When Savage started the, 'I have this degree, and I am this smart' crap, he lost. For someone who is allegedly intellectually superior than most, Savage lost his composure big time with someone he should have chewed up and spit out.

The statement he made about being a Republican was a sarcastic joke, he wasn't serious about it. It went something like, he says "I'm a Republican", his family says, "how can you be a Republican? They're only for the rich?" and Barkley responds, "you forget, I'm rich".

It was just a joke--- the beat writers around him have always known and said he's not a Republican.

A good thing, too... Since he's an idiot. Well, maybe not an idiot, but a hypocrite prone to contradicting himself any and all the time who fits much more naturally within the Democrats.

Karl Malone, Clyde the Glide and of course the great Bill Laimbeer actually know what they're talking about when they talk about politics--- natuurally, they're Republicans.

Hell if we can get more Democrats like

Zell Miller

I would switch parties...

...I hear Barkley is conservative (or so says Rush). so it might be good to infiltrate the Dim party. Heck the liberal spenders seem to be running the Republicans...so what difference does it make....

Apparently years of being force-fed the Democratic Plantation's Kool-Aid has turned him over to the dark side.
