Although he stepped down as CBS anchor 25 years ago, Walter Cronkite's legacy continues today. CC Stereo
A constitutional republic such as ours should have put that enemy propagandist in a firing squad.
Did this thread get pulled already?
Bah. The day I heard Walter Crankbite speak of the evolution of man from apes as indisputable fact, for me, that's been his legacy.
He's one of those retirees who really ought to go quietly into the night but, for some reason, just can't bring himself to do it.
Just got this gem on Walter. It is regarding the tragic end of President Kennedy. It calls the effect of Walter's reporting on the tragedy. A voice intoned thus:
He became America's clergyman. He became a Rabbi, a priest, a minister. He was saying to America, everything is all right.
It seems that the media people are in actuality, bigger than the news itself. Oh, someone gets to Cronkite on Vietnam. Heads down, look in. (laughs).
When he announced on air that America lost the Tet Offense in Vietnam, and that we were doomed for failure, that was the last I ever turned him on. He's a commie!
For the reporting on Vietnam, now read the reporting on Iraq.
Just my take on it though.
Oh man! I almost tuned in to watch it when I thought the show was called "American B@stards" not Masters!
