People in Maryland are not "Yankees". I ordered grits with a breakfast in MD once and they didn't know what they were. They're Yankees!..........

Little does my neighbor there know that there's a DISTINCT MARYLAND ACCENT. Actually, there are two of 'em. One butts up against Delaware, and the other encompasses Baltimore and environs down to St. Mary's.
Neither is considered "Yankee", nor are they like Souvrn' Mountain, not even in the Maryland mountain counties.
BTW, the MD accent stretches across the country all the way to Kansas City ~ has a bit of "r" coloring ~ having used it all my life I've always been disturbed that words such as warsh, squarsh, and Warshington DC were misspelled.

WOULD OF HAPPENED With grammar like that, you could write for this station.
The word is "would've", short for "would have".

Do you work for BabelFish (or maybe BabbleFish) ???I used myself to work for babelfish but I carry out that the salaries of the work from too difficult to were to be understood. It was important not to return itself as all immediately that I made examination of the direct action at the license.

What would you tell those dead Confederates who came from Md and fought bravely against the Union armies?
I can't believe there are so many ignorant Souvrn'rs here, and so impolite to their own allies.

Uh, the border between PA and MD is sometimes referred to as the Mason-Dixon Line. MD is/was part of Dixie.....Ummm, yeah, rigggghhhht. I'm from South Texas originally, and we consider those from northern Oklahoma to be Yankees.
You don't wanna know what we consider everyone else from Oklahoma.

I can get grits any time, day or night, anywhere in MD or Northern Virginia, because I know where to go. You don't obviously.
Not everybody likes grits, and I've even had difficulty ordering them up in the Deep Souf' too.
