BAGHDAD Multi-National Division Baghdad Soldiers and Iraqi police seized explosives Wednesday night after searching a building north of Baghdad.
While conducting a dismounted combined patrol, Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, and IPs were attacked by terrorists using small-arms fire from an apartment complex.
The Soldiers and IPs searched the building and found five blocks of explosives, an AK-47 and ammunition. Six suspects were questioned and taken into custody in connection with the incident. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team removed the explosives without further incident.
GETTING THE JOB DONE
For all the talk about Baghdad falling apart, we continue to hear few major attackes or mussies getting through to blow up some fruit stand with a suicide car or goon strapped with explosives. All these raids we are doing and capturing weapons and explosives seem to be keeping the sensational attackes to a real minimum. Obviously fewer goons are on the streets. They must be keeping them in dog kennels once captured.
