"Finally the Marine's pleading turned to screams.... a high, almost womanly shriek. And still the punches continued relentlessly. Several people in the bar took a few tentative steps as though they wanted to try to break it up at that point, but hands reached out from the crowd and held them tight. I'm not ashamed to say that mine were two of the hands that held someone back."
Being a United States Marine, maybe he died fighting Muslims, On other threads I hear that some of them are.
"All evening the Marine had been trying to pick a fight with one of us and had finally set his sights on this diminutive shipmate of mine... figuring him for a safe target."
An odd contradiction, after trying to fight anybody in the room all evening, hours later after no success, he decides to pick on this guy because he is "safe", it just so happens this seemingly experienced brawler manages to choose a man that is more than his match, probably the toughest guy in the room, which actually seems fair.
I would like to hear the American Marines version of this, if he is still alive.
Agreed! And I am a former squid!
If he has an ounce of common sense he wears this particular badge of shame quietly...
