An Israeli soldier waves a tattered Hezbollah flag as he returns from fighting around the southern Lebanese village of Marun Al-Ras to a position along Israel's northeastern border with its neighbour. Israel geared up to intensify its deadly offensive against Lebanon, readying thousands more reservists after claiming it had won the green light from the world to crush Hezbollah.

MY first thought..."well America had to fight a civil war, once upon a time ago...and lost more Americans in that war, than all of the others"...
My second thought..."if you were sincere about getting rid of terrorists in your country and your government, you wouldn't hesitate to fight them".
I see Lebanon as an enabler..and reluctant to change it...therefore, there is NO hope for 1559.
I feel the same way about the Palestinians...IF they were remotely serious about wanting to be "legitimate"..and live in a side-by-side country with Israel...they would be doing whatever it takes to get rid of Hamas...rather than let them be part of the government.
In Iraq...they wanted to do the same thing with Sadr...and see how that is working out??
It isn't. Sadr needs to be assasinated..and then, hopefully, his minions might be salvagable.

I am truly flattered...you are very nice to save that.
Thanks.
Hey sleuth, good to see ya. Bout time for my beauty rest though.
I sure hope you are correct, I just don't have good feelings about it all.
RE: your reference to Sadr---I just flashed on several old Western movies and the line : "That boy needs killin!"
Actually, I was quoting TXSleuth, but I think it's a given most of us feel the same.
That is GOOD.. I'm listening to it over and over while I FReep.
"Yalla Ya Nasrallah, we will screw you inshallah.
We will send you back to Allah,
with all the Hezbollah.
Yalla ya Nasrallah, go away ya garbage..
It's already been sentenced from above,
that this is your end..."
Great beat!
I'm trying to catch up a little on the shootings. I heard some on the TV while I was dozing.
Ok, Freepers, a serious (sort of) question here (and I can't believe no one has mentioned it):
Did anybody pick up on what the Israeli Ambassador to the U.N., Dan Gillerman, said tonight to Greta about recently walking out on the Syrian Ambassador making a "speech" at the U.N. Said the Syrain Amb. was trying to tell everybody that Syria's heros were George Washington up through Nelson Mandela. Amb. Gillerman said he only had two choices, to walk out or to puke.
"Puke"? He actually said that? (or my mind was playing tricks on me!?) I hooted so loud my wife came in, mad at me for waking up the baby, who's at the other end of the house. Then I explained why, and she laughed too.
Just watched that video of the Hezzie missile launch site being hit. Wow! indeed. (Woke up the baby again!)
Your mind wasn't playing tricks on you. I saw that part of Greta's show and the Ambassador was GREAT! He actually did say he either had to walk out or puke. You've just gotta love his honesty....and I love listening to him speak. He is so articulate and you can see how much he loves his country.
"Syrian" (sp_
I also watched Laura Ingraham try to get a Muslim to call Hezb. a terrorist organization. He wouldn't, of course.
I know...I am trying mightily to tamp down those pessimistic feelings.
Let's pray when we go to bed...that the Israelis will find the way to rid themselves and the world of the terrorists that introduced the world to suicide bombers.
Good night, Varm...Cya tomorrow.
I was catching up on the thread. Sounds like watching a movie with your wife was a good decision. What movie?
i don't get a chance to post here very often...where does everyone think this is going? alot of pressure on israel
funny how we see throngs of flag burners in the middle east but never anyone protesting against hezbollah, hamas, al qaeda etc
laura
The shooter, believed to be a Pakistani, went to the Jewish Federation of greater Seattle...and shot 5 people..
1 died, 2 I think are critical...and 2 not as bad. I read that one of the women was pregnant..but the mother and baby should make it.
He said something about being a Muslim..and being angry with what is happening in Lebanon...
May be more news tomorrow...but, the maddening thing was that none of the cable channels really even covered it.
For the same reason you never see "Schlep Smith" interviewing anyone in the Christian part of Lebanon (it aint newsworthy in their eyes)
I heard about that on Fox. May God have mercy and heal those injured. May the deceased RIP. And may the Muslim shooter be dealt with by our justice system.
