The longer this goes on, the more attention is focused on "dirty Durham" and its criminal protection rackets.
I don't think the powers that be want this.
By now they probably just want this case to go away,
and the lights on Durham to be turned off again, so they
can crawl back into the darkness and operate the way they have been doing, without the fear of a federal probe, etc.
Hmmm... "The Durham Solution". I'm outlining the novel as we speak...
If Nifong was an honest man, he would be saying, his impeachment would be justified.
