French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy on Saturday criticized Israel's rejection of a 72-hour halt
to fighting to evacuate the injured, children and elderly from southern Lebanon.
"I actively regret" the refusal, Douste-Blazy told a news conference in Paris. He said he would immediately renew France's appeal for such a temporary truce through the United Nations. (AP)
72 hours of Hezbo's to regroup? I don't think so.
I actively regret being French.
""I actively regret" the refusal"
What on earth is active regret?
The French are goofy.
This is war, the side that is getting its ass kicked doesn't get the opportunity to call timeout to regroup.
Maybe they can get the next geneva convention to introduce a standing eight count into the rules of war.
"He said he would immediately renew France's appeal for such a temporary truce through the United Nations."
Yeah. That'll do it! /s

TRANSLATION: Hezbullah is getting their asses handed to them and need some time to reorganize, rearm and redeploy..we need an excuse to stop the fighting so our friends can accomplish this.
Ah, yes. Deplore. Nobody can "deplore" quite like those French, eh? "Deploring" is for girlie men.
Real men kick some ass.
"Ah, yes. Deplore. Nobody can "deplore" quite like those French, eh? "Deploring" is for girlie men."
Next is receiving the dreaded "Letter of Deep Concern" from the UN.
The same as a "free gift" or a "co-conspirator".
The "W" in French stands for "Warriors".
The fine print reads, "prepare to be shake down."
That's the indian version. It should read, "prepare to be shaken down."
must have peeled off the "gore/lieberman" bumper sticker.
I forget, is Hexbullah a member of the U.N.?
Otherwise, we see footage of Israeli rockets hitting UN supply vehicles and more innocent civilians as they respond to Hezzie rockets fired from amongst them. Wasn't the video and story about the four dead UN "peacekeepers" enough?
The French are angry because the Israelis won't surrender...
Word has it that France plans to offer Israel detailed data on their Maginot Line which, they assure the Israelis, will protect them from any misguided followers of the ROP.
No,they're not full members, but they have many many close friends and supporters there...
I have a feeling that the Israelis aren't buying the ceasefire BS this time. They are attempting to remove the tumor. I wish the world could see that.
I can't imagine the mess if Kerry was in charge. There would be white flags everywhere and Israel would be asked to give up more land and more lives in turn for getting more of the same.
(Go Israel, Go! Slap 'Em Down Hezbullies.)
"My kid blew up your kids school"
I hate to admit it, but that really is funny in a sad sort of way.
I actively regret being born on a U.S. Air Base in Chambley, France just before Degaulle kicked us out because our tanks didn't have 21 speeds in reverse like the French.
