Democrats call for 'new realism' abroad

WASHINGTON, July 29 (UPI) -- New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, establishing the Democratic Party's platform for the upcoming election, called for a "new realism" in U.S. foreign policy.

Richardson delivered the party's Saturday radio address, and knocked the Bush administration for failing to understand "that while diplomacy without power is weak, power without diplomacy is blind."

The New Mexico governor went through a litany of international problem spots -- from Iraq to North Korea and the Middle East in general.

He went over the Democratic plan for "a new realism in our foreign policy." The main points are energy independence; rebuilding alliances; focusing on the "real dangers," which involves a redeployment of U.S. troops in Iraq; dealing directly with Iran and North Korea; passing a comprehensive immigration plan; facing "global environmental threats" and respecting "human rights and American values."

"Every American wants safety and security," Richardson said. "We can continue to wait for Republicans in Washington to lead or we can make a change.

And the Dems and MSM think they'll have some sort of special position in that new world order for helping out. It'll be too late when they discover otherwise.

They should just stick with "We know you'll vote Democrat because you always have and you'll buy anything as long as we can milk your union for contributions!"

New Realism=Carter III (CLinton was Carter II). This means the US negotiates with dirtbags who seek our destruction. It means we rely on the UN, a world body so corrupt it would be RICO'd did it not have immunity. It means treating the most despicable regimes as though they were moral equivalents. It will mean having a silly-a$$ like Chavez in for state dinners, thus giving this evil little worm the legitimacy he does not deserve. Eventually, it will mean isolating Israel and giving terrorist organizations quasi-recognition, since this advances "peace" don't you know. This "New Realism" is just the same old leftwing horse flop the Democrats have tried to pawn off on us since "peanut boy" was in office feeling our pain. The only pain I had visa vis this numbskull lefty was the one I had in my arse the entire time this dunce occupied the WH.
