I am surprised their name wasn't changed to "The Environmentalists" or something like that years ago.
To be named after beer manufacturing in today's PC world is remarkable.

This sounds like a Tuesday Morning QB ping from NFL.com.
THe guy who wrote that column had PC names for all 32 NFL teams.

It sounds like the Brewers are doing what my slip-sliding away Giants did last year; creating unis in Spanish, and paying tribute to Latino players from the team (Hall-of-Famers Juan Marichal and Orlando Cepeda, Felipe, Matty, and Jesus Alou, etc.)

This is something that MLB stepped up last year after the controversy over the dearth of Hispanics among the finalists for the All-Century team. Last year, MLB announced the nominees for the Latino Legends Team.
The Brewers don't have close to the Hispanic heritage the Giants or many other teams do, so why would they do this? Because while Bud Selig doesn't own the Brewers anymore, his influence is still felt. His daughter used to run the team until 2004, when in another seemingly PC move, they selected a black man to President of the organization.
Let me interject at this point that I am a black man myself.
