Here we go again. This time, it's a fatal shooting at a Jewish organization in Seattle, but to the authorities it's yet another inexplicable incident characterized every which way except as what it is: freelance jihadism. My radio pal Hugh Hewitt has a great summation here . One is surprised only that this time the cops didn't redeploy the Mounties' line from Toronto the other week and describe the killer as representing the "broad strata" of society. The notion that a fellow isn't a terrorist unless he's got a machine-readable al-Qaeda membership card is pathetic: The fact that you don't need deep sleepers controlled by hierarchical structures is one of the principal characteristics of Islamism. Here's what I had to say about one of the first of these incidents post-9/11, from just over four years ago. This excerpt is from “The Face Of The Tiger”:

I’m a dead-white male, as you can tell from the picture accompanying this column. Suppose on Martin Luther King Day I went to the offices of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and shot the receptionists. How many nano-seconds do you think it would take before the attack was being characterized as racially motivated? Your top Olympic hotshot could ingest every steroid on the planet and he couldn’t beat that time.
Suppose it was Judy Garland’s birthday and I went to my local gay bathhouse and opened fire on the fetching young men handing out the towels. How many minutes would tick by before the word “homophobia” was heard?
Or suppose it was the anniversary of Roe v Wade, and me and my semi-automatic swung by the abortion clinic…
Well, you get the idea. On the Fourth of July (hint) a guy went to the airport in Los Angeles, sauntered up to the ticket counter of El Al (hint) and fatally shot two people and wounded three. How many folks hearing the news on a quickie radio update honestly expected it to be anyone other than a Muslim male?
Obviously, Underperformin’ Norman Mineta, the scrupulously sensitivity-trained US Transportation Secretary, would have been wary of jumping to conclusions. Were he running the LAPD, he’d have pulled in a couple of elderly spinsters from the Baptist Missionary Society and Kelli-Sue, a trainee hairdresser from Cleveland.
But, fortunately for the final death toll, El Al has its own security and so the suspect, after firing ten rounds, was himself killed. And whaddaya know? He wasn’t an elderly spinster but a 41-year old Egyptian male! His name wasn’t Kellie-Sue, it was Hesham Mohamed Hadayet!
Mohamed! What are the odds on that?
This stunning development seems to have completely disoriented the FBI. I quote from the New York Times headline: “Officials Puzzled About Motive Of Airport Gunman.”
Hmm. Egyptian Muslim kills Jews on American national holiday. Best not to jump to conclusions. Denial really is a river in Egypt. “It appears he went there with the intention of killing people,” said Richard Garcia, the Bureau’s agent in charge. “Why he did that we are still trying to determine.”

Naveed Afzal Haq, 30, is arrested and charged with killing one woman and wounding five others at the downtown Jewish Federation building. The shooter declared "I am a Muslim American, angry at Israel," according to eyewitnesses. "There’s nothing to indicate that it’s terrorism related," according to the FBI.

Dr. Wameeth Fadhli is charged with shooting an unarmed bicyclist, who was hit in the chest and shoulder. According to witnesses, the victim was riding his bicycle when a sport utility vehicle pulled alongside and Fadhli reportedly began firing what they described as a pistol. The witnesses told police the shooter was alone and wearing what appeared to be surgical scrubs. Galveston Daily News: "Assistant district attorney Xochitl Vandiver, who recommended [$60,000] bond after conferring with investigators, said the amount was higher than usual for that charge because of concerns for community safety. “At this point, this looks like it could have been just a random shooting, and that makes it a pretty scary crime,” she said." WBAL: "Detectives said there was no motive for the shooting and that Jabbar did not know anyone in the theatre, including Schrum." WJZ: "The family of the Baltimore County man accused of shooting and killing another man inside an Owings Mills movie theater says the suspect suffered from a mental illness…"

Hesham Hadayet opened fire at Los Angeles International Airport while standing in line at the ticket counter of Israel's El Al Airlines, killing two and wounding four others before an airline security officer shot him dead. FBI officials initially discounted terrorism and reported on his "despondency" over personal affairs. A year later, the FBI admitted Hadayet's anti-Israel views and characterized his bloody acts as terrorism.

AP: "'[He carried a note blaming the United States for using Israel as "an instrument' against his people. The note found in Ali Hassan Abu Kamal's pocket contains 'rambling, angry stuff,' and appears to contradict claims by the man's family that the shooting had nothing to do with politics, a high-ranking police source said last night. The letter also expressed anger at France and England for using Israel as 'an instrument' against Palestinians, and indicated that Mr. Abu Kamal planned to vent his anger at the Empire State Building, the source said.'"

Rashid Baz, a Lebanese livery cab driver, opened fire on a van full of Hasidic Jewish boys on the Brooklyn Bridge, killing one and wounding several others. He was sentenced to 141 years in prison. ME Forum: "The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) at one point ascribed his motive to 'road rage.' But then, in December 2000, federal authorities changed their minds and announced that Baz’s actions were 'the crimes of a terrorist.'"

We certainly could learn a thing or two from the security methods of say, the Israelis. I can't take any more of this political correctness. If we here at Free Republic had our way, then maybe that awful shooting never would have happened.
I bet it really made the authorities wince at having to label this a "hate crime"!

A muslim that is loyal to a western country is a traitor to Islam. A muslim that is loyal to Islam will be a traitor to any western country. The only way to ensure loyalty in muslims is to convert them to some other belief system.
There are loyal people of Muslim origin in western nations, but they are not good Muslims.

Actually, Moderate Muslims have interpreted the Koran correctly.
The Wahabi-Hanafi, who throw out the piety of the Sufi, and the direct experience of G-d of the Dervish, are the heretics. The are the equivalent of the Texas Libertarian party which ignores two centuries of Court decisions, and rather prefer to read the US Constitution directly, and with that, and their fantasies of what they want it to mean, feel that is all they need.
If you want to justify your actions, you can find what you want in any scripture. When you don't find what you want, you just supplement with fantasy.

IMO, Islam is not a religion but a very ill-conceived and evil political and societal control system, and is therefore deserving of the same special constitutional protections we give to street gangs. When they stand up and advocate worldwide application of Sharia law and replacing our Constitution, that's treason AND sedition wrapped up into one act. Therefore, it is the duty of every right thinking patriot to.........

The Koran was developed after Mahomet died. It was invented to provide theological justification for the Arab conquest. It is a synthesis of Jewish and Christian religious practice with Hindu pilgrimage practice. Allah is a derivation of "Allat" a G-d imported from Scind. (the name "Hindu" is an arab mispronounciation of Indian Scindu or Sindu.
Fact: you can't live in a modern world by the Koran, nor by using the New Testament. So you have other sources for your instructions. If you choose to ignore the DMV in your state, you won't have a very nice life, though there is nothing in the New Testament or the Constitution to forbid driving on the left.
