U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, speaking after the Israeli bombing of the Lebanese village of Qana, said it was time for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hizbollah guerrillas.
She said she was saddened by the bombing and confirmed that she had canceled a planned trip to Beirut, but would stay in Israel to try to work out a deal for ending the 19-day-old conflict.
These people the Israelis are fighting are cowards, as illustrated in the above article, mingling with civilians some of which actually support them.
The bombing was to be expected. Rice should be calling for the Hezbollah's heads given their use of non-Geneva tactics of War. THEY are responsible.
All the MSM is bemoaning the fact that women and children were killed. Certainly, that is a tragedy. But, since when did Hezbollah or any terrorist organization give a rats a$$ about women and children? Once again, the west loses the PR war.

I agree with you.I don't believe that Israel did them any damage. They killed some of them but that does not accomplish anything because they are like an anthill. You can kill a thousand of them today and by tomorrow they will all be replaced. You have got to cut off the head [in the case of the anthill, kill the queen] if you are going to kill them [destroy the anthill].
President Bush should keep Rice in Washington D.C.
If Israel stops now, they will pay a high price in blood in the near future if they stop now.
The U.S. should be a lesson for them. We did nothing when they blew up our embassies, troop barricka, and warship. This non action resulted in the attacka upon the World Trade Center and Pentegon.

There is no cease fire and it is in our best interests that we call for one. As long as those two things happen, things are going as planned.

Hezbollah hides among the residents of this city and fires rockets. Reportedly, they prevent civilians from leaving the area even after warnings by the Israelis.
We should be pointing this out, not caving to public relations pressure.
When the Hezzbola publically admit defeat and swear to never attack Israel again, that's when the fighting should stop. NOT BEFORE!

It's difficult to believe that Condi's out of the loop. So I'll assume that she's trying to please those who are attacking Israel from civilian locations (or the virtual European allies of those terrorists).

I don't see anywhere that they use Condi's actual quote in the story.....it is in the HEADLINE- but not her actual quote and words....
meaning- I think her words have been taken out of context- and used to throw a big headline up and stir up trouble....

If she really is calling for NOW to be the time for a cease fire- and is doing so- BECAUSE of the bombing of "civilians" then why not print her FULL QUOTE?
