Three rabies incidents and they kill 50,000 dogs. Gimmee a break. It's what the Khmer Rouge did. Killed the dogs under the houses so the owners wouldn't know spies were listening to their conversations. I'm sure the Chinese wouldn't think of doing such a thing.

Having spent a considerable amount of time in the PI in the late 60s (much of it in Olongopo, what you were eating was either BBQ’ed chicken or pork. Even the PI folks consider monkey meat as something they would not eat even if there were enough monkeys to go around to feed all the drunken US military folks that got the “munchies” after a night of drinking San Magual (sp).

I only visited Olongopo while on a tin can. WE prted there twice. I have never been a drunk, but was willing to try something different. Not surprising, but still makes for a good "war story"!

Which “tin can” … I served on the Taylor (DD 468) and the Joseph Strauss (DDG 16) on several visits to the PI.
