The Sikh’s are a very misunderstood people. Many mistake them for Muslim’s but its the furthest from the truth. We have a couple of Sikh families in my neighborhood and they often walk by our house on their evening walks. We find them very friendly, and they always give us a wave and a smile when they see us in the yard.

There are indications that Thompson, who may suffer from mental illness,

The article should have mentioned this sooner, but I guess it takes to much of an edge off the hate crime angle.

Has anyone in the press yet called the Seattle shooting a hate crime?

The shooter in the Seattle Jewish Slaying was being investigated for a possible hate crime, but I think they decided against it. I personally do not like the idea of a legally codified "hate crime" -- murder is murder and intentional murder like this one should be punished by death. But I hate even worse the use of the "hate crime" to single out only those situations that are politically incorrect.

Yeah. Right. They should have started the article with that line so as to rule out any possible indication of hate crime. /sarc

The "mentally ill" guy was good enough to identify a foreigner among a million other people.

They were probably Indian airborne commandoes or Naval boys on training-those were the days when the Reagan-Rajiv accords helped to start modernise India's special ops capabilities.

The ceremonial sword (Kripan) has always been a point of contention with authorities around the world.Even in India, most Sikhs don't walk around with one, though they may own one.

Throw away the key with idiots like this.

People that simultaneously evil and stupid do not deserve to live among us ever.
