It's hot here. Almost like August in Michigan.

It's all cyclical. Remember Jimmay Cahtah saying we'd use up all our oil reserves by the end of the decade (and that was 1972). Jim - yer still alive and there's still oil!

Dems - alarmists, all.

Do you think the heat wave is related to global warming?

Yes 20 votes (27.4%)
No 11 votes (15.1%)
Duh, it's summer 24 votes (32.9%)
I don't know 2 votes (2.7%)
Global warming is a myth 16 votes (21.9%)

From the last two polls I've seen today, I have determined that 22-27% of the population are ignorant fools!

It's been crappy, cold, and cloudy all summer up here in Alaska. We're having the year "without a summer." It's cold right now, as a matter of fact; all the garden flowers and veggies are weeks behind schedule, the dirt is cold, the mosquitoes have been unending from the constant rain, and no one has any sort of tan. So, yes, it's obviously global warming. </sarcasm>

They split the no vote 3 ways: 1. No, 2. Duh, It's Summer, and 3. Global Warming is a Myth. This minimizes the yes vs. no impact.

What amazes me is the 2.7% that will take the time to vote "I Don't Know".

If you'll just cherry-pick that data a little better, you can get a more dramatic "hockey stick" on the end of that graph...that will increase your chances of getting grant money.

Here's what I posted at this little newspaper:

"Ah, the pleasure of a narrow world view. Up here in Alaska, we've scarcely had a summer - the weather has been abnormally cold, rainy, and cloudy. I visited South Africa this summer, and the weather there was also abnormally cold and cloudy. I also grew up on the East Coast, and my memories of late July and early August are filled with thoughts of lying in bed without air conditioning sweating like a pig listening to the katydids in sweltering 90+ degree air. The fact is that there is more carbon dioxide in the air since 1800. What that means remains to be seen. Hot summers are normal. Neither your summer nor my summer here in Alaska can be reasonably seen as an example of long-term change. Of course, if you want to panic, use the weather as an excuse to hate capitalism or your culture, or just wring your hands, go ahead."

Yes, it's global warming!
But I have bigger problems: I think I have a badger or some other dangerous wild animal under my sink.
Every time I turn the light on there's this terrible growling noise! Maybe a wolverine?!
Oh me--what to do, what to do . .
