Unborn Child a Parasite, a Tapeworm: Columnist
LifeSiteNews ^ | Hilary White and John Jalsevac

ANN ARBOR, August 2, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In a July 26 column that reads almost like a parody of the slogans of the abortion movement, a sophomore at Michigan State University has declared that the unborn child is a parasite, similar to a tapeworm that should be "annihilated."

Writing for The State News, the campus paper of Michigan State University, one of the largest univerities in the U.S., Shane Krouse writes, "The fetus is merely a wad of cells. A mere wad of cells doesn't equate to a fully functioning, living human being. A wad of cells cannot make its own cognitive decisions… Comparatively, a fetus is little more than a tapeworm. It is quite common for humans to annihilate parasites with medications or toxins, so why not allow for fetuses to suffer the same fate?"

Krouse asks rhetorically, "How can you kill something that is not yet living?" He answers his own question saying that the child after birth is "alive" because it no longer receives nutrients and oxygen through the umbilical cord from the mother. He does not clarify how a thing that processes nutrients and oxygen, grows, moves independently and replicates its own cells – the usual criteria for living things established by the biological sciences – can be not alive in the womb but suddenly alive at the moment of birth.

Nick Mrozowski, the editor for The State News, told LifeSiteNews.com that Krouse's piece does not necessarily reflect the opinion of the newspaper itself. "When we publish a columnist it is their view," he said. "We routinely publish columns that the paper does or does not agree with."

"[Krouse] has reinvigorated a debate in our community that is important. A debate is good."

Mrozowski said that the reponse to Krouse's inflammatory language has been a mere handful of letters, some opposed and some in favor.

One woman wrote to the State News to say that she agreed with Shane Krouse that the unborn child is a parasite that may be killed with impunity.

Clementine Ford of Adelaide, Australia wrote in response that because the "reasoning for abortion is
personal…there can be no definable ‘valid’ reason for having one."

"Personally, I aborted my parasite because of failed contraception and a fervent desire not to breed right now. I feel no guilt for my actions."

You know, there are times I wish we could have the address for the mothers of these idiots and ask them why they didn't abort them? Afterall, this kid must think his mother is truly stupid to have kept a cancer or a tapeworm in her body for nine months. But then I think they might be just as horrified about how their offspring turned out as the rest of us. At least I hope that.

Exhibit A of a completely seared conscience, and probably a raving sociopath.

Agreed, but have any of them ever felt guilt for their actions?

What is the deal in Michigan? There seem to be many reprehensible types there.

Sounds like Mr. Krouse could stand to do a semester of basic Human Biology. As far as making it's own decisions, I wonder if Mr. Krouse will off his grandparents or his parents when they get old and frail, and can no longer make decisions for themselves?

More than likely, Shane Krouse is nothing more than a parasite, living on his parents. Maybe they should cut off his nutrients. I'm sure he makes them very proud.

I don't know if I ever e-mailed to you the comments from Yahoo when they used to have clubs. I collected a whole bunch of different quotes from a club called Abortion Celebration. The women (and some men) that inhabited that site were demons. I'll have to see if I can dig those up.

Not even an abortio-nazi could be this stupid. I just don't believe it. This has got to be something akin to "A Modest Proposal"

A mere wad of cells doesn't equate to a fully functioning, living human being.

In Shane's worldview, a fully functioning living human being is just a "wad of cells." The only difference, in that regard, between an adult and a baby in the womb is the size of the wad. I don't see why big wads have any more right to freedom and life than little wads. But that's what secular humanism reduces to. The bigger the wad, the more the will to and the right to power.

So, Shane, please get in the cattle car. Next stop, Belsen. The part of my wad that has thoughts believes that your wad is a parasite on society. What? You say you have rights? Nope. You're just a wad of cells and I have a gun. As the larger and more powerful wad, I can do whatever I want. This is for the common good. Now, are you going to come along like a good little wad or do I have get unpleasant?

The edifice of civilization that gives Shane rights is the same edifice that once gave babies in the womb rights. Without grounding in God, that edifice slowly becomes Nietzchian and barbarian. Shane is part of that process of degradation. If he doesn't pay for his acts, his children or grandchildren (should he choose to bring a parasite to term) will.

Obviously Krouse was never himself an unborn child. He must have been found under a toadstool.

This guy does not seem to realize that he himself was once a taoeworm, a parasite, who had a loving mother who brought him into the world.

Isn't Liberal radicalism interestingly blind, they always apply their ideology to everyone else but themselves. Ever notice that?

Well Krouse Wad, there probably will be a suicidal wad cutter in your future.

This dam is sick, however we must understand that stating that a fetus is a parasite is correct to a point. A mother's body will not give up protein for a fetus, causing children to be born with 10% less brain weight and mentally deficient, if the mother does not get enough.

Now look at the slogans from the Pro-death movement.
"It's my body/it's my choice"

If a fetus is not part of the mother's body and is a parasite, it then is NOT your Body and NOT your choice. There is a whole seperate being. And guess what? It's not a puppy.

I think he is just a stupid sophomore trying to write things which will make his liberal professors happy.

The things I thought and said as a sophomore in college make be blush with shame now as an adult. As they say, youth is wasted on the young. And college life isn't real life yet.

When mortgages, male pattern baldness, marriage, and that first look at his newborn as it emerges from its mother occur in this man's life, he will almost certainly have a far different opinion than he has now. He's barely out of high school, folks.......and we know what mental midgets teenagers can be.

Intersting

Seems to be about a 50/50 spilt on the guess 'the Krouse' is a him or her.

Juding from the story, I vote fem, tho it is hard to say without a photo, medical exam and DNA test these days.

Could the piece be a 'cry for help' after an abortion and now she has decided it was a mistake?

Could Krouse *BE* that cold (and not be a Commie)?

Could it be my GAS meter is brioken and Krouse will have to live with the results at some time?

Found the quotes. These were quotes from about the year 2000--all but the last one were from Abortion Celebration:

"I agree a woman should have the right to abortion on demand at any time during her pregnancy."

"BEFORE my last abortion I was given a 9 page report on my options. . ."

"I have never been in that position, but considering how little thought it takes to f__k, you should put just about that much consideration into aborting, because childbirth ain't some magical thing. It's the result of f__king. If it was so f__king magical, sex would last longer than it does (for many people, heheheh)."

"I feel no regret for the two abortions I have had."

"We need to start enacting some Social Darwinism here. We are the only animals that do not have natural enemies, nor destroy derformed young. And yes, we ARE animals. We ARE primates."

"When I suffered a positive pregnancy test in the summer of 1991, I did not for one second even consider any option except the abortion of the cancerous mass from my body."

"When I refer to a child in that way, it's bratty little bastards with mothers who think they're entitled to some sort of special treatment just because they accomplished a task that I do several times weekly, which is F__K."

"I call children crotch fruit, snot goblins, f__k-trophies, sproglinas, vomit comets, etc., because most of them ARE!"

"This is why I want my uterus ripped out and deposited in the nearest trashcan."

"Yeah, I just LUVS when my body balloons up to Jabba the Hut size, only to s__t out something the size of a watermelon out of an opening the size of a lemon! WHERE DO I SIGN UP!?! There are reasons why I want a tubal ASAP."

"yeah, okay...I get jealous when people get all sorts of special treatment for a bodily function."

This person is comparing pregnancy to bodily functions as well--"Just start rubbing your tummy and loudly say, "Ulcer wants Pepto!!!" Or run potty saying happily, "Butt wants a dumpie!!"

"The baby does not really feel it and its fast! There are enough of us stupid cruel people anyway. We need to stop worrying about us and worry more about animals. I mean look at us taking away their life for cloths, food, beat'n fun and all. They have feelings and feel pain too! So abortion is so good! We dont need more people to come on earth to abuse our fellow earthlings! Its a cruel word out there! Jen. ABORTION RULES BABIES SUCK!"

These people are subhuman degenerate scum.

No. They are fully human. The "subhuman degenerate scum" is their view of the unborn baby. That's how they manage to kill her so casually. The oldest trick in humanity is to dehumanize those you would destroy. Don't fall into the abortionist trap.
