France: Israel Not Doing Enough, Iran ‘Stabilizing Element’
The Israeli National News ^ | July 31, 2006 | Hana Levi Julian

French leaders praised Iran and disparaged Israel on Monday in two separate news conferences held in Beirut and in the Paris area.

Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin told reporters at the news conference in France that Israel’s willingness to suspend its air strikes on Hizbullah terror targets was “only a first step, but still not enough.” De Villepin maintained that the “cessation of the aerial attacks is insufficient in light of the situation in Lebanon.”

At the news conference held in Beirut, French Foreign Minister Phillippe Douste-Blazy praised Iran as a “stabilizing force in the Middle East.” Douste-Blazy told reporters that Iran "is an outstanding country with great people and an honorable civilization. It has a crucial role in the region.”

Iran is the primary patron of the Hizbullah terror organization, which has fired close to 1,800 Katyusha missiles at northern Israeli communities in the past 20 days, killing 19 civilians and injuring hundreds more.

Iran has armed Hizbullah with long-range rockets equipped with warheads containing more than 100 kg. of explosive material and little metal balls designed to wound large numbers of people and create maximum damage.

Hizbullah started the current war with Israel with a major attack on July 12th in which terrorists kidnapped two IDF soldiers, killed four others and fired Katyusha rockets at Israeli towns along the northern border. Four other soldiers were killed in their tank by a mine when they set off in pursuit of their kidnapped colleagues.

Iran also continues to refuse to end its uranium enrichment program, in direct violation of international law. Ongoing efforts by the international community to convince Iran to end the program, which is a precursor to the development of a nuclear weapon, have been fruitless thus far.

He's right - Israel isn't doing enough - they ought to be
exterminating every one of those camel-humping M-F's.

The Iranian president constantly spouts off about how the Holocaust didn't happen, and that Israel should be eliminated, and France thinks they are a "stabilizing" force? The French are truly, truly demented and have no grasp of reality!

I guess in WWII, the Vichy government was a stabilizing influence as well. They sure kept ol Adolf from going off the deep end.

What's in the wine over there?

Amazing!

France constantly finds a deeper pit to throw their worthless asses into...

Poor France -- born with a silver spoon in her mouth and reduced to gaging on Arab deposits.

I agree with the Frogs, Israel isn't doing enough.

I want it to call up it's 600,000 reserves, mobilize all 5000 of it's tanks, put all 440 of it's first line aircraft in the air, and go through Hezballah and the Syrian armed forces like corn through a goose.

Then I want Israel to give the imbeciles in Tehran a collect call and ask them how they prefer to be served to the local buzzards, as original recipe or extra crispy.

You never know what kinds of manipulations these diplomats are doing behind the scenes. They might just be trying to butter Iran up in order to get them to make concessions.

France wants to send their soldeirs over there and does not want them to be shot to pieces by Hezbollah. Maybe this is just a way to get there from here. I am not taking this all that seriously. I could be wrong though.

France. Typical.

When we were kids my granddaddy used to scold us "Don't pick your nose, what are you? French??" He was a product of his era, I guess: only France could invent the Vichy Regime, a particularly nasty stab-in-the-back for the British at the time.

None of that sentiment resonated with me, until these past few years, when we have seen France at Her worst behavior.

And only France could have the temerity to scold the Israelis for doing "too little". Disgraceful.

Hopefully Israel will have the class to set this rebuke to one side, considering its source.

In other breaking news: bears poop in the woods, water is wet, its hot in Georgia in August and cold in Maine in January.

The French never miss an opportunity to be against Israel and the USA. The day the French support Israel and the USA is the day the earth spins the opposite way on its axis.
