Baltimore police are investigating a firebombing at Baltimore Hebrew University after an employee reported a loud noise and then a fire at the base of a side door of a building in the 5800 block of Park Heights Ave. in Northwest Baltimore.
The incident occurred about 2:45 p.m. yesterday. Agent Donny Moses, a city police spokesman, said the female employee alerted maintenance workers who came and extinguished the small fire and then alerted authorities.
Moses said detectives determined the fire was started by an incendiary device, such as a Molotov cocktail, thrown at a steel door, causing no damage. It is being investigated by the department's arson unit, but has not yet been classified as a hate crime.
"At this point, there's nothing that would indicate that this is a hate crime," Moses said. "They have problems with juveniles in that area."

There are a lot of angry muslims in Baltimore. I know about a dozen muslims and only one I haven't thought about calling the FBI on. Even that one jokes about nuclear bomb suitcases and beheading the white perch he catches.
That was pretty much the description of the "youths" that were burning cars in Paris for two weeks, wasn't it?
Gee, now that you mention it, I do believe it was. Go figure.
But of course. It's summer, the kids are out of school, and they're just bored, right? Just a couple kids walking around the streets at night carrying a molotov cocktail and a bic lighter, and one of them says to the other' "whatcha wanna do, dude?"
To which his companion says, I dunno, whatchYOO wanna do?"
"I dunno." the first youth replies. "Maybe we could light this thing off and throw it at sumpin' and run away!"
Youth 2 replies, "DUDE, YOU RAAAWWWWK! Fire that baby up!"
So genius # 1 lights the wick on the firebomb and then gets a little panicky and asks his friend "Dude, what should I throw it at? Like I don't want it to blow up in my hand!"
"Shit, I dunno, just get rid of the damn thing, throw it over there!"
"Over there", completely unknown to these two young adventure seekers, just happens to be a synagogue. So the firebomb blows up, and out two merry pranksters disappear into the night giggling....
ORRRRRRRRR... maybe it was ROP terrorism. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Am a bit surprised there hasn't been more of this before now - more individual acts vs. organized. Then again, I am making a big assumption.
Maybe Israelis defending themselves brings out hatred for jews that trumps hatred toward American actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Is Baltimore so full of juveniles who do random molotov cocktail firebombings that that this is viewed as an everyday occurrence, and therefore it isn't newsworthy?
Baltimore is Martin O'Malley's (and MD4Bush's) turf. I wonder how MOM will respond to this random, unrelated to religion or the Israeli war juvenile delinquency problem in his fair city?

I'm going to go out on a limb, here, and state that juvvies very seldom find it amusing to firebomb a church. It's not impossible, considering the black churches down South, but, considering the last three weeks of news, to deny this act as a hate crime is to be either profoundly stupid, or under very strict orders from someone WAY up in the food chain...
It'll grow, count on it. The problem will be is if our government cares more about it's taxpaying law-abiding citizens or the ROP and their rights. Must not step on muzzie toes you know....

CLIFTON – More than two dozen religious leaders and public officials gathered at the Islamic Association of Cincinnati Mosque this morning to condemn the Tuesday night bombing of the group’s buildings.
The religious leaders called the incident a despicable hate crime that will not be tolerated in the Greater Cincinnati area.
“What happened here last night was wrong, hateful and evil,’’ said Cincinnati Archbishop Daniel Pilarczyk.
