"Why don't they "fly the coop" all the way to Iran?"

Sounds like a good idea and Maines could take her Iranian husband with her.

And, they are no longer Chicks, look at them, they are aging Hens.

Yesterday, I drove by the AAC here in Dallas and they had a big promotion on their screen for the Chick's concert here in December.

I bet that concert will end up getting "re-routed" as well.

They're not losing audience, they've just become more selective in choosing their fans..

And Natalie isn't fat, she's just big boned.

Interesting you mention that because just over a week ago Colin Cowherd on his radio show on ESPN Radio (The Herd with Colin Cowherd) was not thrilled that Prince was going to perform at the next Super Bowl halftime show; he openly wondered if it was possible for the Dixie Chicks to perform during the Super Bowl (either pregame or halftime show) and his producer Chadd "The Compass" Scott promptly shot down that idea, say that after the Janet Jackson debacle at a Super Bowl halftime show the NFL would NEVER invite anyone controversial to perform at the Super Bowl. Given the fact that the Dixie Chicks are intensely disliked in the South, Texas and the Midwest, I'm not surprised at Scott's comments.

1st of its kind to work?

Let's for example take france, and Americas boycott of french wines.

If you listen to french winemakers bemoaning the rapid loss of American sales of high end french wines you may change your thoughts.
Until a year ago I had a service company that serviced grocery stores and I would talk to wine representatives and discuss whether they thought there was a decline in french wine consumption by their customers and they were emphatic, YES.

It's not just the chicks that are spewing their political views while on stage.
I wouldn't mind taking my 20 year old son to see C.S.N.& Y.
but I refuse to pay hard earned money to listen to them talk bad about my president, his policies and America.
And there are others.

"'Shut Up And Sing' is already taken. It's the title of Laura Ingraham's popular book. I hope Laura takes action on this one."

My thoughts exactly!

If only they took their own advice.

The irony continues: part of the reason they're cancelling is so they can play some dates in Australia.... and they've spent the last few days trashing Mel Gibson. When Natalie starts sounding like Mel, we'll know they've booked the Israel tour.

The Dixie Chicks have been mostly blacklisted from country radio....... despite the fact that the group's album "Taking The Long Way" is one of the biggest sellers in country music this year....

Best-seller, my Aunt Tillie.

Musta been U-hauls trucking cases of albums 24/7......from stores to warehouses all over the US.

All timed to a Dixie Zits "Resurrection Interview" on 60 Minutes.

LOL!

And what do the Chicks see from the stage? Wide Open Spaces

from the dixie chicks website we find

their tour consists of 41 dates.

17 are in blue states

17 are not in the USA

7 are in red states and of those 7, only 1 has been performed (ohio).
