Note the apparent 'baggie' in the third photo (last hand on the right). Also, Green Helmet does not have gloves on (can't manipulate pacifier lanyards with the darned gloves on?)

Green Helmet's hand appears to be holding something besides the kid's arm--probably the pacifier, keeping it free of dirt. It is just another prop, late to the show.

Beats me why a photographer or editor would risk his job over that, or how anyone that inept could have gotten the gig in the first place.

The artists monitor gamma was set wrong. He happily worked the image thinking it looked great. He never checked it. When viewed on another/other monitor(s) well, it's pretty obvious.

I just finished sending out three stories to my email list. First how Charles Johnson identified the photo as doctored, second how alReuters admitted it was faked and third about the jihadi wannabe Reuters employee who threatened Charles.

"The GIF you posted as evidence that the photo was doctored to make it more lurid did not compare the doctored August 5 photo to the undoctored one-- it compared the doctored photo a completely different one from July 26" ,P.I know nobody's posting to this thread anymore, but it needs to be said that, without deconstructing the "original" in Photoshop, it just looks like a better doctored photo than the "faked" version. Yes I have Photoshop and can deconstruct it and make it smokier and more realistic, and I'm but an amateur, Now my oldest daughter could out a realistic mushroom cloud looming on the "original" and make it look more realistic than either the "fake" or the "original".
