Reuters calls the doctor, take 2 ( More fake Photos )

I don't know if this has been brought to anyone's attention yet, but in a quick search of the authenticated Reuters photographs attributed to Adnan Hajj, I found the following two.

One is from July 24 of a bombed out area in Beirut, with a clearly identifiable building in a prominent part of the shot.

The second is of the exact same area, same buildings, same condition, with a woman walking past "a building flattened during an overnight Israeli air raid on Beirut's suburbs August 5, 2006."

JOHN adds: Another example of the same phenomenon--not an identical photo, but two photos of the same woman, obviously taken at more or less the same time but published two weeks apart--in each case with a caption saying that she had lost her house to an Israeli bomb the night before!

I did several searches and could not find this story nor these photos.

Extreme Makeover - Beirut Edition

Either this woman is the unluckiest multiple home-owner in Beirut, or something isn't quite right.

Same clothes, same scar on her left cheek, same mark under her right eye. Two pictures of the same woman, maybe even taken on the same day.

So, what gives?

Update 10.30pm. The BBC is currently using that second picture. Twice. On one page.

It took me a minute to see it. It's the building with the white and beige triangles on it, and rubble in front, repeated in both fotos but supposedly about a week and a half apart.

I don't see an obvious usage of clone tool in these images. According to the article, the problem is the July 24th and August 5th dates in the captions.

What's the deal about this? The shot taken 24 Jul was clearly taken from the fifth floor of some building. The second shot taken 5 Aug couldn't be taken from that vantage point, because of the overnight airstrike and the building the photographer was in on 24 Jul was reduced to rubble.

In the first shot, there are a bunch of people in the streets, in the second shot there's only one. Israeli's are killing all the civilians. Its genocide I tell ya! Genocide!

I don't see a problem here, where's the problem? Its not like Tourist Guy is in the shot anywhere. Wait a minute!. That's not some Muslim woman, that's Tourist Guy in drag!. Woah! ANOTHER faked shot!

Look at the smoke in the picture to the left in post #7. See the pattern in the smoke cloud? Thats a clone tool being rather unimaginatively used. A really good Photoshop artist would have mixed it up and blurred the edges of the stamp.
