An attendee of the “Stop the Terror Rally” sponsored by the Council for America-Islamic Relations – Ohio held at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Columbus, Ohio, on Friday July 28 says she was twice assaulted by CAIR’s National Vice-Chairman, Dr. Ahmad Al-Akhras, when she asked too many questions about the organization’s apparent support for Hezbollah terrorists. Fortunately, she caught it all on tape and has put the video online so the public can see the reaction of one of CAIR’s top officials. The alleged assault victim, who chooses to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, but who posts under her nom de guerre “ciaospirit” at Little Green Footballs, describes herself as an independent filmmaker and “new media” journalist At one point in the video, Dr. Al-Akhras is asked by one of his associates who she is, and he mentions aloud the name of ciaospirit’s employer – a fact she says she had never disclosed to him or anyone else.

This Pro-Hezbollah-Anti-Jewish Rally in which this woman filmed the event and was physically assaulted by CAIR's Vice Chairman as well as intimidated and prevented from filming by other Nazi-like thugs is something everyone should see.

While not surprising for those of us who recognize the danger of CAIR and other radical Islamofacist groups here in America (who pose as "moderate" representatives of Muslims) seeing them in action, is not only frightening, but reinforces our perception and should encourage all to be ever vigilant (ALBEIT, IT APPEARS, FROM THE INTIMIDATION TACTICS AND REVELATION THAT THESE PEOPLE HAD INVESTIGATED AND KNEW SOME PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS WOMAN, NOT WITHOUT SOME RISKS AND POSSIBLE DANGER) and NOT let these groups preach their hate-filled messages without being challenged.

My biggest disappointment comes from the fact that it appears this lone (very brave) woman was the only person who showed up at this rally and I wonder where the anti-CAIR protesters were?

It appears that the local MSM rag (Columbus Dispatch) is supportive of CAIR and in an article reported Dr. Al-Akhras as being a "Free Speech Advocate."

Is Columbus a hub of pro-Muslim and Islamofacist supporters, or is it merely a case whereby the population has been brainwashed (through CAIR's Propaganda Machine with the willing support of MSM and other PC advocates) in believing that these are merely, a group of "Moderate, Pro-American, Religious, Peace-Loving, People?"

Where was the Police? Or have they been pressured by the liberal politicians to look the other way as well?

As has been reported and discussed widely of late, all of these type rallys and actions by our PC politicians and MSM (including a Chamberlin-like call for appeasment of Hezbollhah and an Israeli surrender in yesterday's NY SLIME) as well as a complacent and dispasionate public who appear to not take what is happening right here in our back yard seriously, in addition to all of the "appeasement" crowd, does not bode well for our Country and is in fact, reminiscent of what was transpiring in the late 1930's.

I think in a way we are lucky in North America. When France and England go under the boot of the muslims that is when Americans will wake up. It will be too late for europe but at least there won't be so many here that we won't be able to wipe them out or deport them. Unfortunatly that will also mean we will be in a Nuclear war with Europe I hope to God we have the missle shield by then but knowing the democrats we will probably be defensless especially if they win in November because they will gut our military and recall all our troops.

How many Muslims live in the United States?

Until now, basically, no one has had any idea. By law, the U.S. Census cannot ask questions about religion. There are also plenty of other difficulties in coming up with a number, starting with the problem of defining who is a Muslim: Does one include non-standard believers like Louis Farrakhan and the Druze?

Uncertainty has generated some wildly divergent numbers. A large 1990 demographic survey counted 1.3 million Muslims. In 1998, a Pakistani newspaper put the number at 12 million. Even the usually authoritative Yearbook of American and Canadian Churches found 527,000 American Muslims in 1996 and six times as many (3.3 million) in 1998.

Needing some kind of consensus figure, Muslim organizations came up with a self-acknowledged "guestimation" of 6 million, which this year they decided to raise to 7 million.

These numbers were so widely adopted (even by this writer) that they acquired a sheen of authority. But repetition does not transform a guess into a fact.

The trouble is a generic one; religious organizations commonly inflate their membership to enhance their voice in the public square.

Fortunately, the smog of imprecision finally lifted last week, with the appearance of two authoritative studies by highly regarded demographers. (Each study relied on respondents' religious self-identification.)

Interestingly, they agreed on a very similar number, one much smaller than the old guestimate.

The American Religious Identification Survey 2001 carried out by the Graduate Center of the City University of New York polled more than 50,000 people and found the total American Muslim population to be 1.8 million.

Meanwhile, the University of Chicago's Tom Smith reviewed prior national surveys and (in a study sponsored by the American Jewish Committee) found that the best estimate puts the Muslim population in 2000 at 1,886,000. (With a nod toward figures supplied by Islamic organizations, he allowed that this number could be as high as 2,814,000 Muslims.)

In other words, two authoritative studies carried out by scholars found that American Muslims number under 2 million - less than a third of the hitherto-consensus number.

To this, the militant Islamic groups in Washington - widely but erroneously seen as representative of American Muslims - responded with predictable hyperbole. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) furiously accused Smith's report of working "to block Muslim political participation."

The American Muslim Council (AMC) charged Smith with nothing less than trying to "deny the existence of 4 1/2 million American Muslims" and blamed him for "tearing at the very heart of America."

The AMC also amusingly claimed that its own estimate of "more than 7 million" Muslims came from the 2000 Census figures - erroneously thinking that the Census asks about religion.

Oh, and that's the same AMC which in 1992 pressured a researcher named Fareed Nu'man to find 6 million Muslims in the country; Nu'man later testified that he counted just 3 million and was fired by the AMC when he refused to inflate his number above 5 million.

Why does the militant Islamic lobby insist on the 6-7 million figures? Because a larger number, even if phony, offers it enhanced access and clout. Convincing the Republican Party that Muslims number 8 million, for example, led to urgent calls from its chairman for "meeting with [Muslim] leaders," something which becomes less of a priority when the Muslim population turns out to be much smaller.

Knowing the real number of Muslims will, most immediately, likely impede two militant Islamic efforts now underway: one (pushed by The Minaret magazine) to get Americans to acknowledge that their own misdeeds partially caused the atrocities of Sept. 11; and another (led by CAIR) to halt the U.S. military campaign in Afghanistan. The longer-range implications will be yet more significant.

Regardless if the actual number is 3 or 4 or 8 million Muslims, they pose a very real threat to our security and stability.

Granted, regardless that Europe is well on its way of being an Eurabia and the Islamofacist have made tremendous inroads, I would not be complacent and believe that the "revolution" will begin over there and then spread over here, when in fact this is already happening, right here, and right now, and NOT, something we have to concern ourselves, only in the not too distant future.

Anyone who has observed the Administration's [UN}willingness to seriously tackle the illegal alien problem (and it appears has reigned in ICE and refused to order it to find, apprehend and deport ANY illegals) in its PC effort not to alienate the Hispanic community, will no doubt soon realize that to EVEN suggest, that it would target these Islamofacist (regardless of their sworn intentions to destroy Israel as well as replace our Representative Republic with a Muslim Theocracy) is beyond the pale.

I cannot agree with your remarks about President Bush or about the illegal situation. I do agree that the politicians need to shut up and sit down, they are a nest of vipers looking for votes and money, and they do not have the best interests of the U.S. at heart.

The illegal situation has been seriously botched all the way around. I don't want to talk immigration with anyone anymore, but I do use this simple test that applies to me and mine and our life: Pedro wants to mow my lawn, and Achmed wants to kill me. For my family, it really is that simple.
For someone else, it may be very different. Since we are free to pick our battles, I choose to fight against Islam.
Really, when you come right down to it, who are these people to say that my family, my grandsons, and myself should be murdered or enslaved simply because we are not Muslim.

I went to a screening of Obsession : Radical Islam's War Against The West earlier this year. The director was in attendence and during the Q&A, someone asked him (when he made the appeal for moderate muslims to challenge the followers of hate filled Mlitant Islam).

He chuckled and said that they probably know about him but that in the end, they would probably not be interested in promoting his work (perhaps more intent on supressing it).

The RoPers behavior towards ciaospirit does not shock me in the least. This kind of intimidation and physical violence (or the threat of it) was commonplace when I was in EUrabia.

The RoP had recruiters and muscle from Al Mujiharoun (now "disbanded) The Savior Sect, and Hizb ut Tahrir working openly on the streets and in universities who would all get physical if challenged in any way... so more often than not, they were left alone by the public, and the clueless dhimmi authorities who did not want to be accused of inciting muslims who were freely practicing their "religion", and its "obligations." Whenever islam realizes it's lies and deception can not face truth in a free and open discussion, intimidation and violence is employed to silence dissenters.

In case some of you missed it, it's interesting Dr. Al-Akhras knew who ciaospirits employer was, tho she did not mention it...

For a muslim from CAIR, ciaospirit must have embodied everything that is an antithesis to islam... a kuffar (infidel) female who dares to challenge their dominant males, those serving islam by performing dawah, and above all challenging and mocking islam itself.

For the sharia lovers out there that may read this: There's a little Ciaospirit in all of us, and we are over 5 billion strong!
