According to Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer, the elections were "in many respects, a referendum on the president more than anything else." If so, President Bush has strong support in the Democratic Party since Lieberman received 48 Percent of the vote

the numbers are even more dramatic than that - because CT is so liberal, the breakdown is approx. 33% lib demoncrats, 33% republicans & 33% independents. Yet Lamont could only garner 52% of 33% - which means approximately ONLY 17% of liberal CT, of all places, is wacko-left. If they can't get more there, where can they?

33% independentsThey are usually left-leaning, but they would vote for a rare Republican like the Terminator in California, or for President Bush in 2004 when he ran against John Kerry.

You've got that right. Either they approve of the jackasses setting the agenda for their party, or they're too stupid to disassociate themselves from and defund them.

I know that. I am with you on this one. I wrote it for the Joke of it, because the Senate Dems are learning to many things out of this thing.
I gave them one more why to eat it.
It is that simple. Also, I Liked the point from a fellow Freeper, that this vote was only 33 of the CT voters.

Maybe from your point of view they are left leaning. From my point of veiw they are usually right leaning. They would vote for us if they were not frightened by the MSM and the education establishment.

From my point of veiw they are usually right leaning. On issues related to national security, terrorism, you are probably correct.
But on the other issues such as welfare state, etc.....I would say they are left-leaning.
If 9/11 never happened, it's fair to say that we would have a democrat for the presidency.

I can see your point. I just feel that they are starting to give up on the welfare state. All they need is a little nudge and they will flip.

I think there is a misprint in the headline. It surely was meant to say "48 Democrats Support Bush".

I just feel that they are starting to give up on the welfare state. All they need is a little nudge and they will flip. That's right. Already with gun control, Democrats backed off in national politics.

AS well as they should. It felt so good to see the common man rally around the cause of gun ownership.

Lieberman received 48 Percent of the vote
Liebermann recieved 48 percent of the 10 percent of the registered voters who actually voted.
