Six months in CT officially, six minutes or less to unofficially caucus with the Dems. He will have a LOT of bargaining power.

He won't. He's already said that if he wins as an Independent, he will continue to vote with the Dems, so why bother? He'd just have to face another DUer in the next primary.

I've said it from day one... Lieberman will trounce Lamont in the general if he lost the primary.... All this primary does is show the dems as the anti-american and cowards that they are. Lamonts victory does more to hurt the dems nationally than anything the R's could have done.

not necessarily. lets make Joe look real good so that the vote split will be enough to pick up an unexpected Senate seat.

Hopefully Joe will be even more "independent" after he gets elected in November. The Dem leaders dropping him like a bad habit should not sit well with him. This will only get more interesting.

My personal prediction is after Joe L wins in Nov, he will snuggle right back up with the Demo Senate leadership.
Lamont will be viewed as an aberration. Power and the pork that comes with it always trumps principle with the modern politician. It would be nice to see Joe L be different and apply a little payback to the moonbat demo wing BUT I bet he won't!

Term Limits ! 12 yrs in the Senate (2 terms) 12 yrs in the House (6 terms) is what is needed!

I hit it. I wonder what Joe will do if or when he wins? Be a rubber stamp for RAT bills anyway? Or will he smack 'em down for voting him out and side with the 'Pubbies on some issues?

I see the 'Pubbies only have 15% in the Poll. What are the chances that the Rats will split nicely and give the seat to the Pubs?

Oh this is priceless. No wonder the lefties are going so crazy about Lieberman (I).
The major Drive-by media buzzwords are "selfish", "fair" and "integrity" when discussing this topic.

Lamont (D)
32%
Lieberman (I)
54%
Schlesinger (R)
14%

Some people here are calling me a troll for suggesting we vote for Liebermann on this web site?

Good lord: Liebermann would have aced this electon in Connecticut even without Lamont. We gain nothing if Lieberman loses and if he wins we gain a pissed off ex (?) Democrat getting razzed by moveon.org for "stealing" their election from them!

The more votes Liebermann gets in November the better even if it means they come from the republican. It is one way to CANCEL moveon.org again.

"I see the 'Pubbies only have 15% in the Poll. What are the chances that the Rats will split nicely and give the seat to the Pubs?"

The chances are about zero.

The Republican has ethics problems involving money, false IDs and gambling debts. Is THAT what we need in the power-and-money mosh pit of Washington? A guy we KNOW has a severe gambling problem who is severely secretive about it, to the point of using false names?

He's not going to get traction.

It's Lieberman or Lamont.

That means it has to be Lieberman.

Joe is no lamont, but he is a POS lib dim. Once and always!

You already saw high profile Dems at Lamont's victory party last night. Also Hil said she'd support the Dem winner. That means all these people have got to be tied to the extreme left, which Lamont is. That will kill them in the Fall.

I know CT pretty good... I grew up there... and Lieberman will defeat the Kos-Kommie soundly come November. While CT is very blue... it's a moderate-liberal blue... not Kalifornia-Krazy blue. The smart CT Republicans will take the the lesser of two evils... because Loserman will vote to sustain the war against radical Islam.

Lamont as a US Senator is downright scary.

That is reassuring as I know the Republican has no chance.
If this was a referendum on the President, then the Dems. didn't do so well.
They barely beat a pro-war candidate in a blue-state when the only voters were Dummies.
That is not the least bit impressive. But hey! MoveOn was able to win their first election...even if they did beat another Dem...LOL.
