Veteran CBS journalist Mike Wallace described current Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as an "impressive fellow" following their meeting Tuesday in Tehran.
"You'll find him an interesting man," the 88-year-old Wallace said. "I expected more of a firebrand. I don't think he has the slightest doubt about how he feels ... about the American administration and the Zionist state. He comes across as more rational than I had expected."

I am reminded of Dan Rather's nearly tearful last interview with Saddam Hussein.
What is it with these old journalists of ours?
Can you imagine such an interview with Tojo , or Nazi leadership during or right before WW2 ?
I hope , at the very least , Mr. Wallace took him aside and warned him that he was about to feel the American boot ....
To: Greystoke
President Towelhead must just laugh his a$$ off when he sees somebody like Wallace coming to interview him. He must think, "Thank you volunteering to be my toilet paper."

Wallace said he nearly fell out of his chair when Ahmadinejad told him, "I hear this is your last interview." Wallace said he replied: "What do you think? Is it a good idea to retire?"
He said the Iranian president told him it was important to keep doing interesting things.
Also from the story. LOL! Good advice.

Saving grace: at least he's retiring!
I think Chris Wallace was serious when he said criticized his father's ability to still do the news. If so, what he(Chris) said was harsh but absolutely true.
I mean, what in the blue frigging blazes is wrong with this guy???????? This interview sounds like it tops Dan Rather's lovefest with Saddam Hussein--- and I didn't think that could EVER be done!

It's been almost 30 years since I watched 60 Minutes ... even in my younger liberal days, I couldn't stomach the pompous self-righteousness of Wallace, Bradley and the rest of the crew.
Fie and pox upon Wallace and his brethren from CBS ... buncha looney toons.

Mike is the same sonuvabitch who said on Video tape -- that he would NOT make any attempt to warn an American patrol that was about to be ambushed by the enemy.
He said he was there to record and report the story -- NOT to become a participant...
He said words to the effect - he didn't want to violate the professionalism of journalism...
He also convinced the now dead Peter Jennings to change his previous response to agree with Mike Wallace...
Too bad "journalists" don't apply the same practice today...just report the FACTS...

TV game show host.
His credibility has never improved.
