Crist's conservative focus is on economy, not social issues

He's still his daddy's little son. He's fifty years old. Charlie should be handling his own checkbook, not daddy. Charlie doesn't own real property and I think he has a rental car. His perspective is one of privilege. If something is difficult, he will pass the buck every time. Every time.

Crist's high school football team is voting for Tom Gallagher. Crist's dad used his influence on the Pinellas Cty School Board to get Charlie made the Captain. The kid who was supposed to be the Captain is still p-oed thirty years later. The rest of the team is still p-oed too.

Charlie hasn't changed a bit. He's a user, a climber - not a leader.

I hate to beat up on the guy but man, because he chose Judge Greer over Terri, she's dead. She had a life expectancy of 60 - 70 years. They snuffed her out at 41. You know it's true. A governor is of all the people but as I said in a post up higher, disabled Floridians, load up the van for Alabama.

This is how Crist answers questions. Q?

A: I will call in a panel of experts or, B: I will let the feds handle it.

So, what exactly is he going to do. Is he going to be surrounded by yes men or give it to the feds? There's no guarantee that there will always be a GOP congress or White House.

He's got no illegal immigration plan and we know he won't focus on social issues and that's us.

And, since Charlie's dad does his checkbook for him, who exactly is going to be running Florida's economy for Crist? Some crony? His girlfriend who is friends with Alex Sink, Emily's List? His girlfriend is a banker. Maybe she's going to run the economy for him behind closed doors. I'm probably right. lol

Pinellas County was a long time RED STATE. As time goes by, it getting bluer because Pinellas County GOP won't listen to their constituents and will in fact hang up on them if they don't agree on an issue.

I know lots of people who won't help the GOP party because of the attitude of the Pinellas GOP. They have a heckuva time getting people to volunteer at their HQs.

Republicans are bailing because of the Pinellas GOP. Their condescending attitude and they have even been in opposition to Jeb Bush.

The Pinellas GOP is bad news. They are haughty and naughty and this is why we cannot support Charlie Crist. He runs in their elite crowd. There's no big tent. It is a private party, the Pinellas GOP.

Crist is for embryonic stem cell research because his daddy who does his checkbook for him (can you say enabler?) has macular degeneration. If daddy can't see, he can't do Charlie's checkbook for him.

Why doesn't a 50 year old man handle his own money? Why does daddy still do it? Crist is a spoiled child, not yet a grownup.

I'm not going to enable Charlie Crist with my vote.

Crist's girlfriend is Katie Pemble, a friend of Alex Sink, Bill McBride's wife. Alex is running for CFO. She's on Emily's List. He couldn't even find a nice republican girl to date. He drags a liberal around. Katie Pemble met Crist through the Semblers. Isn't that cute? You tell me that Katie isn't whispering liberal things in Charlie's ear. And Charlie said he doesn't care that she's a liberal. Need I say more?

Today I got a Crist mailer. It was about how he was so pro conservative values.

Methinks Charlie sees where he's going to lose votes.

Something I figured out a long time ago, and non religious types don't get.

They think it's easy to fake it, and there is always a few people they fool. But 5 minutes of listening to a religious phony can expose most of them.

I remember seeing Bill Clinton and George senior sitting and talking about their faith. It was so obvious Bill was just "aping" religious talk.
Crist can send out all the family mailers he wants. I don't think he's a religious social conservative.

Crist sounds a little like Kerry.. Who was "for the war before he was against it... It sounds like Crist was pro-life before he was pro-abortion...

If you want to keep a Lawton Chiles out of office, then vote for Crist. Here's what Jeb Bush said about Gallagher the last time he ran for governor.

Camp Gallagher is getting swamped with calls, emails and faxes by undecided voters who have now chosen Gallagher for Governor based upon the issues of the day and it is August of 2006. Gallagher's a true conservative and Crist thinks he's one (suffers from delusions).

The best I got??? You're kidding, right?? I've laid out why I think Gallagher sucks, and you have refused to address it. Seriously, when are you going to address:
1. The ethics charges which are currently pending against him.
2. Supporting the sales tax on services (an additional 6% added to all services performed in the state).
3. Supporting the additional 1 cent sales tax.
4. Supporting AWB, bullet registration, and a ban on gun ownership if you're under 21.
5. Flip flopping (just like Kerry) on abortion, parental consent, vouchers, and tort reform.
6. Repeated (and well documented) cheating on his wife.
7. Admitted drug use while he was a state legislator.
8. Day trading stocks while on public time. And trading stocks of companies that were doing business with the state, at a time he was VOTING on the actual business they had with the state.
9. Using state employees to manage his real estate properties.
10. He's down over 20 points in the polls and was HUGELY outraised by Crist and BOTH Democrats during last reporting period. For whatever reason, his funds have dried up.
11. Running a negative campaign (the first Republican to do so) against Jeb Bush in his prior run for Governor.

Can any Gallagher supporter address these issues? I've tried to address Crist's shortcomings as best as I can, but I haven't heard anyone defend the above points.

As long as they don't get taxpayer-funded benefits or government recognition

he doesn't have a problem with embryonic stem cell research

he doesn't talk much about his faith because it's a personal issue

Yes it is, and it shouldn't be in the political arena

and while he doesn't want people to get abortions, he won't seek to ban them.

I'll bet he'll veto any pro-abortion bill that crosses his desk though, and he favors restrictions on abortions

So...how is he a RINO?

You don't have anything good to say about Crist because the bottom line is that he isn't really a conservative. That's what this about. It's not about what Crist did in high school or what Gallagher did. Tom Gallagher stopped the bullet train and saved us millions of dollars. Tom Gallagher wants to review the class size amendment instead of going with the democrats like Crist is because Crist's sister-enabler is a school administrator.

Crist has Sembler money. Should we talk about the ethics of that? I think they own Crist even though Lincoln freed the slaves.

You said it. He is just not governor material. He doesn't inspire confidence in people. The undecideds are choosing Gallagher because he is more mature and imo, Crist has the same creep factor that Al Gore had.

I don't think Crist is a people person. If he were, he would realize that social issues and economic issues do not exist in a vacuum. They co-exist. Choosy Charlie should not have chosen economics over social issues.

I have a lot of good things to say about Crist. He's not perfect, but at least he is firm in his positions, unlike Gallagher who flip-flops more than Kerry. Obviously, the vast majority of GOP voters agree, based on recent polls. Major statewide organizations like the NRA, the FMA, all major law enforcement agencies agree. Crist's endorsements put Gallagher to shame, and rightfully so. The Gallagher team is falling apart as well. Did you see the campaign defections today?

They were swamped today with undecideds who just made up their mind to vote for Tom Gallagher contacting them. It's the voters who count, not the games political operatives play. Everybody wants to be the boss and sometimes the pouters take their marbles and go home. Political operatives can be big babies. The don't count. It's the issues that count.
