Grand Jury Source Reveals What Happened in Disabled Girl's Abortion Death
Life News ^ | 8/10/06 | Steven Ertelt

Wichita, KS (LifeNews.com) -- A person who was a member of the Kansas grand jury that investigated the abortion death of a disabled Texas teenager has told a pro-life group about what happened during the investigation. The source revealed the bizarre chain of events that led up to the death of Christin Gilbert.

Gilbert was killed in a failed late-term abortion in January 2005 at the abortion facility of George Tiller, one of the few abortion practitioners in the country to still do abortions in the very late stages of pregnancy.

After Gilbert's death, a complaint was filed with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, which failed to prosecute Tiller saying he had followed all Kansas laws during the abortion.

Pro-life advocates, suspecting collusion with Tiller and pro-abortion Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, mounted a petition campaign to convene a grand jury to investigate the case further. They obtained significantly more signatures than needed and the grand jury was called.

However, the grand jury was one vote shy of having the votes needed to indict Tiller. The source tells Operation Rescue that all but one person involved with Gilbert's abortion refused to talk during the investigation and information that could have led to Tiller's indictment wasn't allowed to be put into evidence.

According to the source, the grand jury had access to a large amount of documents in the case, including written reports from Tiller and numerous other individuals. They were able to interview many people associated with Christin’s death, but were denied access to others.

The source Gilbert's family failed to realize that the mentally disabled 19 year-old had been raped and was pregnant until she was 28 weeks into the pregnancy. They took her to a Planned Parenthood abortion business in Dallas, which told them they could not do a late-term abortion. It referred the family to Tiller.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Kathleen Sebelius sounds like a regular old spear dipper.

Why isn't she satisfied to merely have the unborn killed ~ this glorying in the murder of a young woman is incredible.

I think I can hear the footsteps of the ACLU as they come to the aid of Tiller... The only question remaining... Will the attorneys for Planned (un)Parenthood or the ACLU take the lead in this case...

I don't understand your comment.
Who's glorifying the death of the woman?

Kathleen Sebelius when she sits around conniving with Tiller to escape the law ~ no doubt they sounded like Beavis and Butthead at the time.

This isn't the first time I read of a case like this:
'... Gilbert's family failed to realize that the mentally disabled 19 year-old had been raped and was pregnant until she was 28 weeks into the pregnancy. They took her to a Planned Parenthood abortion business in Dallas'...'

Here the parents were willing participants in the killing of their grandchild, but imagine that: G-d took their daughter too.

Given this woman's mental disabilities, it seems to me that there was no way she could have "consented" to have this abortion. Her parents forced her to have this abortion, and now two lives are lost. I hope the parents don't plan on cashing in on their daughter's and grandchild's death, for which IMO they are partially responsible.

I dunno, I was surprised -- less by the abortionists than by the parents. If the source is right, they clearly were happy to get rid of their own daughter! Matthew 18:6: "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

The parents should be investigated as well.

What disgusts me is that this girl likely did not choose an abortion. Her parents chose for her and they had no right to do that. Poor girl was raped, than a child taken from her body, and than bled to death. THis is outragious!
