Recently, Swedish state owned public service television broadcaster SVT more or less executed swedish radical feminism in broad daylight.
I admit I didn't expect that from an organisation like SVT.
SVT is about as PC as PC gets - and now we're talking Europe.
A (female) reporter made leading feminist Irene von Wachenfeldt admit she admired the notorious SCUM (Society for Cutting Up Men) manifesto and furthermore state and state anew that "Men are animals".
Today, swedish feminism is an ex-movement.
It has been brawbeaten into confusion.
Quotes from the SCUM manifesto
Solanas advocating the elimination of males:
"Life in this society being, at best, an utter bore and no aspect of society being at all relevant to women, there remains to civic-minded, responsible, thrill-seeking females only to overthrow the government, eliminate the money system, institute complete automation and destroy the male sex."
Assertion that males are inherently inferior to females:
"Retaining the male has not even the dubious purpose of reproduction. The male is a biological accident: the y(male) gene is an incomplete x(female) gene, that is, has an incomplete set of chromosomes. In other words, the male is an incomplete female, a walking abortion, aborted at the gene stage. To be male is to be deficient, emotionally limited; maleness is a deficiency disease and males are emotional cripples."
On the role of the individual in society:
"A true community consists of individuals - not mere species members, not couples - respecting each other's individuality and privacy, at the same time interacting with each other mentally and emotionally - free spirits in free relation to each other and co-operating with each other to achieve common ends. Traditionalists say the basic unit of "society" is the family; "hippies" say the tribe; no-one says the individual."
Describing her vision of a coming revolution:
"SCUM will keep on destroying, looting, fucking-up and killing until the money-work system no longer exists and automation is completely instituted or until enough women co-operate with SCUM to make violence unnecessary to achieve these goals."
"The sick, irrational men, those who attempt to defend themselves against their disgustingness, when they see SCUM barreling down on them, will cling in terror to Big Mama with her Big Bouncy Boobies, but Boobies won't protect them against SCUM; Big Mama will be clinging to Big Daddy, who will be in the corner shitting in his forceful, dynamic pants. Men who are rational, however, won't kick or struggle or raise a distressing fuss, but will just sit back, relax, enjoy the show and ride the waves to their demise."
(Some quotes are from the 1983 reprint, published by the Matriarchy Study Group.)
"SCUM (Society for Cutting Up Men) manifesto "
I have a 1968 edition, it is my favorite fem book.
After reading another thread earlier today of a 18-year-old Swedish woman gang-raped in Arlov, Sweden, arming themselves would be a good step.
True feminists would never arm themselves.
They've reached the conclusion that all effective weapons are phallic (from an ideological point of view).
The only media hyped swedish feminist I approve of is Pippi Longstocking.
Now, that's a viking gal!
Seriously, I envy you.
Nothing to be found on this planet, with the possible exception of a 1968, mint condition Ford Mustang or an unopened bag of marijuana sold at the original Woodstock festival, could be more 1968 than that!
Now, now girls. I understand. Would you like me to run out to the pharmacy and get you some Midol?
I was more of a Frida guy, myself.
"Flossy, bouncy, triumphant silly fluff-music"
Eh?
My NYC english skills must be somewhat below par this morning.
Is there any good hearted american freeper awake that could explain what Mr Rockwell was trying to say in the article below, written 28 years ago?
His message to planet Earth:
"New York Times music critic John Rockwell met ABBA in Stockholm in early 1978 and wrote:
Abba represents a healthy challenge to the two-decades-long dominance of Western pop music by Britain and the United States. The musical context from which Abba evolved is that of so-called Euro-pop - a flossy, bouncy, sometimes triumphantly silly fluff-music that derives not from the urgency of American blues (the source of rock), but from older forms of European folk music.... This band represents as refreshing an example of pure pop as anything being done today. Pop music used to be simply and unaffectedly entertaining, back before rock-and-roll. At its best, rock still lifts popular music into a new seriousness and intensity. But too often it's merely raucous or pretentious, and in the meantime, middle-of-the-road alternatives wallow in sentimentality and schlock".
Basically he was saying, "it has a good beat and you can dance to it."
He did?
That phrase somehow sounds much better in plain english.
Isn't their group doing a fundraiser with a play called the Nutcracker?
The Woodstock festival was in 1969, wasn't it?
