Charles Johnson of LGF was really hoping that the scandal would not be dubbed "Reutersgate." I guess he'll be disappointed to learn that the standard _____gate template has been utilized.

Some claim that the online controversy over the photos has gotten out of hand, with many blogs now launching investigations and hurling accusations at a variety of news sources. where Some = MSM outlets

"These accusations can be very damning, and need to be handled with care and not thrown out by any angry blogger," Grin!
Ain't life great? The left is sliding a little further into senility. Ain't life grand?

In The New York Times photo essay "Attack on Tyre," a photograph of a man who appears dead is accompanied with the caption reading "bodies were still buried under the rubble." However, in a later photograph in the same series, the same man appears to be walking in the foreground of a photo. The Times issued a correction for the first photograph, stating that the man was injured. "He was injured." Sounds like a hell of an injury if he was up walking around afterwards LOL. So what's the theme? "Evil Israelis cause man to stub his toe on the corner of a building."

More accurately it is propaganda from Islamic militants. Yellow journalism by any other name.

I just wish most of America was paying as much attention as we are, and knew how much to trust their media.

Read a silkily condescending excepted article from the WaPo on here this week (can't find the link) about how LGF had achieved "a success of sorts" in these Fauxtography matters.
This, from the paper that's been resting on its Nixon Impeachment laurels for over 30 years.
It made a point of indicating the Charles Johnson is actually a professional musician, not a professional journalist.
But it conveniently failed to address:
- how it is that a professional musician is doing the editorial work that Reuters should've done; and
- how many other biased/inaccuarate/faked photos and articles were treated as "truth" before the rise of the Internet & bloggers.

The fact that the online community rather than fellow mainstream media has become a watchdog of accuracy has surprised many who originally derided blogs as being "devoid of accuracy." Bump to the NEW media!
