Immigration officials have now picked up all but two of the eleven Egyptian exchange students who came to the U-S for a summer course in Montana but never showed up for classes.
U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents tracked three of the students to Des Moines, Iowa, where they were arrested yesterday. Others were picked up earlier in New Jersey, Maryland, Chicago and Minnesota.

Oh yea.
9/11
For a bunch of guys who were supposed be going to school in Montana, they sure are spread out around the country.

Ominous headline on this article. We better catch the 10th guy soon.
That the British hijackers (and the 9/11 hijackers, and these Egypt students perhaps) come to our countries, learn to live with us as neighbors, and still want to kill us all.
In the past, I had assumed that all the hatred in the Middle East was based on ignorance and Anti-American propaganda. But these people have lived amongst us, eaten our hamburgers, and read our newspapers....
Oh yeah. Anti-American propaganda. Never mind.
It's the ones we don't know about that bothers me. I'm sure the other two are being tailed and we're picking them up when we find out their destination. We want to know WHERE they were going and to meet with whom.
I saw it scrolled on the bottom of Fox News this morning and came on here looking for an article about it. I am so tired of the denial by the officials that this could have anything to do with terrorism. The two in Maryland were found at the apartment of the owner of a pizza place where terror-related arrests had taken place before. Something is up.
Dittos
if I were an agent, I'd be all over Cedar Rapids with a magnifying glass... home of the "mother mosque"....
Maybe they are keeping it hushed up for the investigation purposes. Might be a lot more going on than is indicated.
Perhaps they have already completed their mission. They could have been a middle guy for all we know.
That's exactly what I'm thinking.
I don't understand this mentality that we have to know EVERYTHING. When EVERYTHING is published for EVERYONE to see....
EVERYONE includes those who we're looking for .. and THEY will be more cautious.
One of the things we enjoy is freedom of movement ... they are seemingly taking advantage of that .. but in that freedom they often will be more careless than if they thought they were being watched.
I've noticed, in eye-bleeding googling, that there are, on many muslim sites, 3 or 4 local businesses that they recommend (sympathizers?)
Best guess...3-5 we don't know about yet. They would have already been here...probably at Mosques.
Who's got the picture with the apprehended ones crossed off? There were two or three I just didn't like the looks of.
Guess we need to put a FedEx sticker on their butts to get them to their destination. Of course, their real destination is apparently Hell.
On the other hand, I'm tired of hearing that each and every event is "not terrorism related" when it's obvious that it is. That's what they originally said about the shoe-bomber, and that one didn't even pass the giggle test. Neither does this one. I agree that something's up, or at least that was their plan. I can only hope it's been thwarted.
I'm glad these 11 have gotten all the attention and are being found and arrested, but what about the thousands of other young male muslims whose visas have long expired and are nowhere to be found?
Is there something special about these 11 they're not telling us and how is it their story was widely and prominently broadcast?
Something like our home-grown Marxist revolutionaries.
They think that once the violent revolution is over, and the decadent infidels/capitalists are defeated and on their knees, that the revolutionists will have status and power in the new regime. They will be served by those who before did not acknowledge their greatness, and possess the women who previously scorned them. This is the fantasy they are living
Or universities. One close to us has already had one suicide bomber who, I will always believe, failed to blow up the thousands of football fans at an OU game. The FBI maintains it was a mere suicide, but lots of evidence found there suggests otherwise. There is an active Muslim society or association (don't recall the actual name) quite close to the university, where (a) Arabs attend, and (b) recruiting goes on.
You have to admit, it's quite a coincidence that their story emerged 2 days before we learned of the transatlantic terror plot.
The two in Maryland were found at the apartment of the owner of a pizza place where terror-related arrests had taken place before.

I wondered about that correlation, but in my almost 18 hrs a day monitoring of Baltimore radio stations, I have not heard any elaboration on this fact.
We are NOT entitled to the "Secrets of War"...at this time.
They just didn't want to panic college students across the country. That was a failed attempt to bomb the stadium.
In some ways I agree - however let's face it. As a whole people in general would just panic if they heard EVERYTIME that something was terrorist related.
On a side note - a woman on our POA board is also on the board of the subdivision next to ours. There is a 15 year old girl in the neighborhood who has been charged with making "terroristic threats" ... but NOT the type of Terrorism we're talking about .. she threatened a neighbor with destruction of her property (the neighbor's). Of course when an older woman read it in the local paper ... she immediately thought "TERRORISM" .. like a threat to National Security - so she called my friend to advise her of the terrorist living in her neighborhood.
That in a way concerned me - because by using that terminology for threat of mischief - they've WEAKENED that true threat of Terrorism we have as a nation.
Sheesh ... life's getting awful complicated.
lower right looks like the punk on the sopranos...
"About 7:30 a.m. Thursday, El Ela approached one of the Delta gate desks in O'Hare's Terminal 3 and attempted to book himself on a flight to Bozeman, Mont., Bolger said, but his ticket was for a flight from New York to Bozeman on a different day.
He wanted to exchange the ticket and "was acting in a strange, erratic behavior," Bolger said.
El Ela raised his voice with airline agents and told the woman to call the university to confirm he was a student there. The woman did, but a university representative told her to contact authorities immediately, Bolger said. At that point, the woman called the officer, and he soon arrived at the gate.
Was that a bluff? Delta lady takes him up on it and too bad for him that our communication systems work.
Isn't #2 Andy Pettite of the Astros? And #11 Ivan Rodriguez of the Tigers???
So, what was the name of this suicide? Joe Johnson or Mohammed.....? What state are you in?
Oh, fer cryin' out loud. Nobody said "every" incident should be attributed to terrorism. Only the ones that ARE. People need to use common sense.
Joel Hinrichs - we believe convert - Oklahoma
If I remember it was Oklahoma outside a OU-Kansas Sat nite Football game last October.
Whenever theres a pause in news coverage of Dick Cheney, you know he's in the middle of something big.
Wonder if they were going to buy some of those trac phones that the yutes in Ohio, NY, MI were buying by the gross. Too many of these stories coming to light for there not to be somthing big planned by the Islamofascists in the near future.
I would not call the mood in this country or even the UK "panic" over this just-revealed" plot. Ppl are gonna be losing some money, which is what I think worries the powers-that-be more.
For record and not necessarily in defense of the 11 but...
I have known a couple of Saudis who came here to be educated. They came to small schools to be away from the heavy duty party atmosphere present in many, perhaps most large state universities. Scholarships were based on the most bang for the educational buck and potential reduction in temptation.
Two of them are now running businesses and really using their educations. They aren't the radicals we fear and are actually enemies of the bad guys because it is either the future or the stone age. These guys educated in the 80's are taking control and are definitely the future. They know what's what. You never hear of their success.
Exactly..
The word was out on these guys... and STILL he was bold enough to fuss.
My concern there is that the agent should have known IMMEDIATELY when seeing the ticket what the score was. Believe me - airlines have a way to flag those things... And agents are taught to be discreet and how to handle it. I've seen many records in my day flagged ... even before 9/11.
Actually that is nearly exactly correct for some of the first three they caught. They were already looking for work.
No more student visas for Muslims. None!
'what about the thousands of other young male muslims whose visas have long expired and are nowhere to be found'
Perhaps the INS should produce their own version of "America's Most Wanted' and begin plastering TV with photos of people whose visas have expired and have not reported to the authorities. Of course the ACLU will probably say their privacy is being violated.
It could simply be an exercise to prove that Homeland Security is on the ball to take our mind off all the other missing Muslims in the U.S.
That is exactly what I will always believe it was.
That is good for them. What makes these guys suspect is that they never showed up at their "small" school in Montana.
So what will happen to them?
Sent home? Allowed to stay? Given a good ass-kicking?
What will be the ramifications for egypt? Nothing?
It is neglegent, IMHO, to continue to allow individuals from terrorist supporting countries (arab or muslim countries) to enter our country, or stay if already here.
Send them all home, for good.
The FBI said it about 9/11 in the 30 minutes before the second tower was hit!
