Was America ever completely safe? Sheese!
Oh, sheesh.....LIFE is DANGEROUS.....get over it.
The real question that needs to be asked is, "Will America ever be free again, or have the citizens permanently traded their rights for pretense of security?"
After two wars, thousands of deaths and many billions of dollars, the United States is still vulnerable to terrorists. That painful reality has ignited a political frenzy over who's to blame and who's best qualified to protect Americans.
Can anyone imagine this paragraph (or anything remotely like it) being written in 1944?
Exactly.
If there is anywhere in the world that is completely safe, I'd like to see it.
But I know such a place simply doesn't exist on earth.
The Democrats have offered NO alternatives to the choices Bush has made since 9-11 other than "Not that."
WHAT! You mean you've never heard of John Kerrys plan? It's a really great plan, its got sections and subsections paragraphs and everything. I'm not going to kid you it's probably the greatest plan since....New Coke.
"Only the dead have seen the end of war." Plato.
They continue to tell us (like Lamont did in Connecticut)--that if we 'cut and run' in Iraq--out national security situation will improve.
Yes, they do have a plan. It can be summed up by saying, "If we just start being nice to them--things will get better"! Another term for that policy is "TOTAL CAPITULATION".
