British Muslims targeted by ex-police chief

AS LEADERS of Britain's Muslims appealed to Prime Minister Tony Blair to reduce tensions after last week's terror alert, a former London police chief has inflamed the debate by blaming Muslims for terrorist networks in the country.

"When will the Muslim community in this country accept an absolute, undeniable, total truth: that Islamic terrorism is their problem?" wrote Lord Stevens, former commissioner of London's Metropolitan Police, in an opinion column for the News of the World.

In their open letter to Mr Blair on Saturday, Muslim leaders urged him to alter his political stance on the Middle East, which they said provided "ammunition to extremists who threaten us all".

Lord Stevens, whose continuing responsibilities include the inquiry into Princess Diana's death, called on Muslims to "stop the denial, endless fudging and constant wailing that somehow it is everyone else's problem and, if Islamic terrorism exists at all, they are somehow the main victims".

He also defended racial profiling at airports and other hotspots, saying resources were being wasted on searching everybody out of a sense of fairness.

"I'm a white, 62-year-old, suit-wearing ex-cop — I fly often, but do I really fit the profile of a suicide bomber?" Lord Stevens wrote.

His comments clash with a speech delivered last week, before the latest arrests, by Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur, who said profiling had discriminated against Muslims and added to racial tensions in Britain.

"Of course, there'll be instant squealings that this is racism. It's not," Lord Stevens insisted.

Lord Stevens, the former Metropolitan Police Commissioner, created controversy yesterday when he called for "passenger profiling" on flights. Writing in the News of the World, he said airport chaos could be cut by more rigorous checks for "young Muslim men". He said that similar procedures had made Israeli airports the "safest in the world".

Inflammed? that's a crock if I ever heard one. Speaking the truth is more like it. If we're going to survive these savages latest attempt at world domination we'd better worry a lot less about hurting their feelings and more with taking them out.

Ann Coulter has been advocating the profiling of Arab men for some time.

"When will the Muslim community in this country accept an absolute, undeniable, total truth: that Islamic terrorism is their problem?"

Never.

Simply becasue they agree with these fiends who are merely carrying out Mohammad's directives.

This points out the problem with Muslims, they think they are perfect and can do no wrong even when they're killing innocent people. Yes, all of them! Islam will not allow them to self-critique in order to analyze self and societal problems and solve them.

That should be the most prominent inscription at the 9-11 memorial at Ground Zero.

Exactly!
About time people start screaming this in their bloody faces.
The faith of perpetual outrage is also the faith of perpetual denial .

I recently saw the movie "Man on Fire" and I think I know how to make these islamatards. All I need is a knife and a cigarette lighter.

"...Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur,"

Profile: Tarique Ghaffur By Cindi John Community affairs reporter, BBC News

Tarique Ghaffur has been a police officer for more than 30 years

Britain's most senior Asian police officer has warned Muslims are being discriminated against as the result of anti-terror legislation.

In a speech in Manchester, Metropolitan Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur said many police stop-and-searches were based more on physical appearance than on specific intelligence.

Discrimination as a member of a minority community is something Mr Ghaffur, himself a Muslim, experienced first-hand at an early age.

Born in Uganda in east Africa, his family were forced to flee their native land when dictator Idi Amin expelled most of the country's minority Asian population in 1972.

Just two years later, aged 16, he began his police career as a Pc with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) in Salford.

For someone who was destined to become the UK's highest-ranking Asian officer and receive a CBE for services to policing in 2004, his start with the GMP was inauspicious.

At the time Mr Ghaffur was one of only two officers from an ethnic minority in a force of more than 6,000.

He has recalled that on his first day the desk sergeant refused to believe he was a police officer and initially would not let him enter the station...

We will NEVER have the active support of the Islamic/Muslim community to suppress terrorism. They are all supportive of the sick cult that is Islam. Brainwashed killers who should all be thrown out of every country that does not believe in their perverted genocide against the West.

We're big enough not to put them in Detention Camps.

Why is it too much to ask them a few more questions at the airport?

Heck you don't even need that.

All you need are the words: "If you don't co-operate with us we are going to transfer you to Israeli intelligence".

One solution: Declare Islam a non-religion. It is a political organization bent on worldwide domination. Treat it for what it is, the ACLU be d**ned.

When we see Muslims take to the streets in outrage over televised beheadings of bound prisoners to shouts of "Allah hu akbar!", instead of over cartoons, then perhaps there will be some hope for reconciliation.
