Your story is not correct. Ron Paul is not and has never been in CD 22. I have lived in CD 22 since 1981 and Tom DeLay is still my Congressman. (well, at least he was the last one we elected.) CD 22 Republicans will have to write in a candidate and it appears that the Sugarland mayor (David Wallace) will be the Republican choice.
I notice that you are not a Texas or CD 22 resident. What state flag is that you're flying?
It's also a shame that libertarians run around waving their hands in the air shouting "I'm more conservative than Republicans" and do nothing to help the GOP until they NEED the GOP's base.
I would vote for Smither if I was in his district and I will try to talk the GOP into getting behind Smithers but LIBERTARIANS need to grow up!
Please see post 42...
Post 4 is a must read too...
It means, after years of backstabbing Republicans and bad mouthing them, now they need them all of the sudden and they are too quirky and self rightous to say. "Sorry we've been a pack of Asses (pardon the second hand pun) but could you please give us a hand?"
There's that nutty Libertarian edge we all love to see.
They do have a candidate. He is a decent guy too. He has been on the ballot all along.
Which makes this plea all the more interesting. They're only gonna start trying now?
I don't consider libertarianism to be democratically viable option in modern America.
There is substantial overlap between Conservatives and Libertarians. Perhaps even more than the dwindling overlap that exists between Republicans and Conservatives.
Funny I thought Libertarian was just long hand for Liberal.
T'ain't nothing Liberal about the desire to dominate and control people economically. The use of the word in that sense is a perversion of language which should not be tolerated.
Libertarians can continue to shoot themselves in the foot and siphon off just enough of the conservative vote to give away an election or too to the Democrats here and there.
I have seen through their head in the sand agenda a long time ago.
The Libertarian party is a Liberal bastion in America. A helper of the Democrats and a promoter of every social ill that sickens the heart of society.
Good Conservatives who call themselves Libertarian don't realize the Bizarre Cult that eats at the group they think represents their "true" feelings.
Yes Republicans have their problems. However our problems come from Officials and Representatives elected under our colors who DEVIATE from the platform and principles that we stand on. Libertarians problems come from those who ADHERE to the party's platform and principles.
Sorry. It's bitter medicine. Take quickly... lest you need more.
Yeah, I constantly hear the Dems quoting CATO for support. It will be interesting to see if the Republicans support the Democrat over the Libertarian as they did back during Ron Paul's campaign.
Yep. Your right G
Funny I thought Libertarian was just long hand for Liberal anarchist.
LOL
