Again, respected handwriting experts have said Patsy Ramsey wrote the ransom note

Respected experts could also be wrong....

no kidding! fact is if the police ever thought the Ramsey's did this crime they would have been arressted a long time ago for it. I saw their faces in the press conferences, it was heartbreaking and knowing now they probably got the perv who did it is even more heartbreaking. Poor Patsey not only died of cancer, but I believe she went to her death with a broken heart. She lost her daughter, spent her remaining years being accused of the awful crime, and than died a horrible death. Boy did that woman suffer, but you'd think that some people would be respectful to her now, but nope they want to trash that poor woman and her family. I only can pray that John Ramsey will be left alone from now on and live in peace.

It was a $118,000 bonus. How did the killer know about that, to write it in the ransom note?

So did I. In fact, I don't a single flying officer at either Bien Hoa, Tan Son Nhut or Phan Rang who did not take the opportunity to grab a hop to Bangkok. Most went for some better food, others merely sightseeing and almost all to purchase a 9mm pistol and ammo. The issue sidearm to flight crews was universally disfavored, actually, it was junk. What relation does John Ramsey having gone to Bangkok bear to today's arrest or the murder?

I think it shows that, in the unlikely but all too possible case that an innocent person becomes a suspect in a crime, he'd better "lawyer up".

The police and prosecutors are not going to be on his side. Once they suspect someone, their efforts focus on building a case rather than identifying the perp.

I think we will unravel this case about the time we figure out all the people involved in JFK's death (Sr. Jr. or both). The parents were involved in some way. How much is difficult to say. The police were inept in preserving the crime scene.

The finding of the body was a miracle better than Lourdes. Either the father "found" her in the pitch black room and then turned on the lights, or, the body appeared there after the room had been inspected and found empty of evidence.

How on earth could the police allow the father to look for his dead daughter? Do they study anything before donning a uniform? I wonder.

Patsy peaked through her hands while wailing. When the moment of decapitation came (in the note) she was not unduly alarmed.

The whole case stinks. Apparently there was foreign DNA found on the girl, but that does not absolve the parents. There was evidence of prior sexual abuse.

I have suspected both Ramseys from the start. That doesn't mean that I have been convinced of it. That's the way I saw it and I expressed that. Folks, that's reasonable. To rule them out was a silly as ruling them in IMO.

Statistics point to relatives in most instances of child fatality, death in the home type cases.

I see a lot of folks who seem to think this case is solved. I'm not convinced of that. We shall see as time goes by.

Those who are quite angry at those who suspected the parents based on public information are now quite content to damn them based on public information. Whoa there... this isn't over.

Was it right to damn the Ramsey's in public? No. Was it reasoned to believe them suspect and say so? Sure it was. It still is.

We'll see how this plays out.

"i would like to send a care package too a MARINE in AFGANASTAN at the front lines a MARINE that receives little or no mail"
John Karr/johnandjenk@juno.com from Aurora, CO

Looks like he lived in Aurora, CO. How far away is that from the Ramsey's?

he heads up the Asia Foundation
http://www.asiafoundation.org/Locations/thailand.html
which has offices in Thailand.

"For five decades, The Asia Foundation in Thailand has supported the country’s democratic institutions, including support for the drafting of the 1997 Constitution. Currently, the Foundation promotes informed, responsible public participation in local governance throughout Thailand, while ensuring mechanisms are in place to protect the rights of all citizens. Through its programs, the Foundation addresses a wide variety of issues, ranging from managing environmental conflict and combating human trafficking, to enhancing the quality of Islamic school education and improving governance at the local and national level. Additionally, in response to the devastation caused by the December 26, 2004 tsunami, the Foundation is assisting victims through legal aid programs, economic and community developmentprojects, orphan care, and volunteer coordination to assist the affected communities.

IMPROVING ISLAMIC SCHOOL EDUCATION

The Asia Foundation has been working with the Thai-Muslim community since 1961, helping private Islamic secondary schools (pondoks) reform their curriculum to ensure that Muslim students have an equal opportunity to advance economically and socially within Thai society. Constituting less than 5 percent of the Thai population nationwide, the bulk of Thailand’s Muslim minority live in the four southern-most provinces, where they are the majority. Education is a key factor in integrating these citizens into Thai society and the global community. The Foundation’s current focus is working with a core group of 10 Islamic schools in a program to further develop their capacity to provide students with skills necessary to prosper in Thailand’s competitive job market. This pilot program is divided into three major areas. The first focuses on modern pedagogy, facilitating a shift from teachercentered to a learner-centered approach to teaching. The second addresses the curriculum itself, enhancing it so that students are better prepared to compete for university admission and for employment upon graduation. Particular attention is given to English, math, science, and computer technology – subjects that are often very weak in Islamic school curricula. The third area involves strengthening the ability of students to operate effectively in the broader Thai and global communities. This element of the program replicates a highly successful project being implemented by the Foundation in Indonesia. The emphasis is on teaching life-skills required for living in a multi-cultural society. This orientation program is especially designed for Muslim students graduating from small religious schools who are moving to large urban centers for the first time either to work or to attend university.

"To celebrate and honor The Asia Foundation's 50th Anniversary, BAVC and Studio Miramar's David Bolt are creating a 15-minute video with incredible footage shot on DigiBeta recently in Hanoi, Bangkok, Chang-Mai, Phnom Penh, Kampong Chom, Manilla, Davao, Jakarta, Seoul and other Asian locations. Accompanying Bolt on the production shoot was DP Gary Mercer, sound recordist Bill Stefanacci and field producer Jessie Deeter, as well as The Asia Foundation's own media producer, John Karr."

Don't know who all the female news talkers were that strongly implied the family's guilt, but I am wondering if there will be any apologys on some programs tonight.

It wasn't just the press. Too many made the assumption that because the police didn't catch someone right off, it MUST have been the parents -- especially with some obscure finger pointing by the police (at least, as reported). Sadly, otherwise conservatives do this too often. Check out a post on this after Patsy's death and you'll see some idiot member on here accusing her of doing it.

Please note that there are 1000s of John Karr's and John Carr's in the US.

His name is John Mark Karr, according to the latest reports, and is 41 or 42, depending on which report you read. You might try to check a people database first and if you find that the John Karr in question has a different middle name or initial, or is much older or much younger, then just post a general blurb, with a disclaimer on the name.

Thanks.

They better nail this guy good and quick before Greta or Nancy put on their paid TV legal defense teams...to muddy the waters.

IF DNA can get prisoners released from jail, then it can convict someone as well. So if his DNA is a Match, then odds are..he did it.

If there's no DNA, then the case is going to deteriorate before our eyes.

The Ramseys were aware that this guy was being investigated. He had apparently been emailing Patsy recently and including details about the murder that only the, or one of the, murderer(s) could have known. Patsy knew the cops had the guy under a microscope before she died.

The things that stick in my craw, however, are the handwriting experts who say she wrote the letter (which included the exact dollar amount of John's bonus that year); and the timing of this, as if they were waiting for Patsy to die before moving forward.

Was she (or both she and her husband) somehow involved in it with the suspect, John Karr? Has John Ramsey greased some palms to get this over with, now that his wife can't be called to the witness stand?

I don't know because I wasn't there, but something still doesn't smell right to me.

I thought Patsy did it, and although I didn't go on threads at FR and say so, I have no reason to say I am sorry. I didn't follow this in the media, but I read all of the books afterward. I still think the Ramsey's acted strange, and nothing will change my mind about that. This guy hasn't gone to trial yet BTW. I do hope he is the one, and that JB's can RIP.
