Thanks for the news.

If they can prove this guy did it, I hope they throw the book at him.

And may God rest Patsy's soul in peace.

But I doubt the idiots in the media who put this family through the ringer will even bat aneylash.

Right, I bet tonight there will be talking heads on tonight that slimed her and not one of them will have the character to say I was wrong and I am sorry.

Nor should they. This isn't over yet. If a trial shows that there was definitely no involvement of the Ramseys in their daughter's murder, then the talking heads would be wise to make an apology.

Do a search on here back from when patsy ramsey passed away. I posted the original thread and it went well over 500 posts. The hate, absolute refusal to listen to any other evidence except the Ramsey's did it was unreal. The conspiracy theories went crazy.

Even when I and others were pointing to news report, law suits, judicial rulings etc that showed DNA had been found not linked to the Ramseys, hair, fiber and animal evidence had all been found not linked to the home, evidence of a breakin etc - people still only wanted to believe the Ramseys did it.

Many MANY people on here, in the media and some nationally well known figures (Dr. Lee and Dr. Baden ummhmmm) owe the Ramsey family more then an apology. Too bad Patsy Ramsey passed before this arrest was made. May her soul finally rest in peace.

I believe as many in the investigative field that the Boulder Police Department fumbled the ball big time. The officers botched the crime scene and mishandled crucial evidence. So now ten years later perhaps some piece of the puzzle will be revealed. Then again, I have to look at the motivation of this "suspect" voluntarily confessing to commission of a murder. Could his only motive be that he wants to get the hell out of the third world country after being arrested for a sexual crime over there? Someone may confess to murdering JFK, or more just to get out of that hell hole in Bangkok.

Just a thought...

European aristocrat dies in notorious Thai jail
By Graham Keeley in Barcelona
Published: 17 August 2006

Christoph von Hohenlohe, a member of one of Europe's most illustrious aristocratic families, was buried yesterday in the southern Spanish resort of Marbella after dying in mysterious circumstances in a notorious Bangkok jail.

"Kiko" von Hohenlohe, 49, was a prince and member of the Agnelli family, the powerful Italian industrial dynasty. But he died earlier this month at the hospital unit of the squalid Klongprem Central Prison in Thailand.

His mother, Princess Ira von Fürstenberg, 66, a well-known European socialite and former sister-in-law of the fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg, is demanding an autopsy and an investigation into the circumstances of her son's death. The Thai authorities have so far declined to open an inquiry.

Hospital sources have suggested the playboy aristocrat died from a blood infection or insulin deprivation. A glittering array of European aristocrats attended the funeral, as Von Hohenlohe was buried next to his father Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe at San Pedro de Alcántara, near Marbella.

Alfonso von Hohenlohe was famous for turning the former fishing village of Marbella, on the Costa del Sol, into an upmarket, fashionable resort for the Hollywood jet set and European aristocrats during the 1960s and 1970s.

His Marbella Club Hotel became a popular refuge from the paparazzi for the likes of Princess Grace of Monaco, and the actors James Stewart, Tony Curtis and Sean Connery. European royals were known to rub shoulders there with Arab sheikhs and South American dictators.

Christoph von Hohenlohe's grandparents on his mother's side were Prince Tassilo Egon Maria Karl George Leo von Fürstenberg and Clara Agnelli, a Fiat heiress.

Von Hohenlohe was arrested and jailed in Bangkok on 31 July on a charge of falsifying documents. The prince, who had travelled to Bangkok apparently for treatment to lose weight at a luxury health clinic, was due to return home to Hawaii, but was delayed by three days after failing to get on a flight.

As his exit visa had run out, he changed the date in pen so as to avoid more paperwork. However, this was spotted by officials and. Despite attempts to convince a judge that he had not intended to commit a crime, he was sent to Klongprem jail. Klongprem has been condemned by the human rights group Amnesty International for its inhumane conditions.

With up to 40 prisoners to a cell, Von Hohenlohe's health deteriorated rapidly in the overcrowded conditions. Though not a diabetic, his blood-sugar levels were abnormally high just before he died. The prince's brother, Hubertus von Hohenlohe, told the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera that his mother had only been able to visit him once before his death.

"It is all a bit strange. He was held in a small room with 40 inmates and no mattresses," said Hubertus, who travelled to Bangkok to try to get his brother out of jail. He added his brother had twice been denied bail. An unnamed prison official said: "Christoph von Hohenlohe died on 6 August. We've sent the details to the Swiss embassy. He was here on charges of possessing false documents."

The Swiss embassy in Bangkok, which acts for Liechtenstein, Von Hohenlohe's birthplace, confirmed it was investigating the death but refused to divulge any details. An embassy spokesman said: "It is a matter of privacy. At this point we don't see the case escalating into a diplomatic issue."

Someone posted (perhaps on this thread, perhaps another) that this guy may just have wanted to get back to U.S. jails. I realize he knows some inside info, but there was a lot of loose lips in this case. Who knows how he got that info.

That DNA is number one on a short wish list for prosecutors I'm sure. I agree with your take on it.

I will also say, that just because this guy may have in fact been involved, it doesn't rule out anyone other than himself. It may at some point, if he comes clean, but we don't know much if anything now.

Thanks for the comments. It would be grand to see justice done in this case. That little kid haunts me and I didn't follow the case all that close.

If I remember correctly, wasn't the crime scene corrupted before the police came? I agree with your take concerning the police, I don't think they were up to snuff, but they may have been handed a very problematic crime scene making it fairly difficult from the get-go.

Thanks for the article. I'll check it out a little later.

I'm with you Freekitty. The media is truly a freak; no, it's a virus. We had a recent incident here locally - really sad. A prominent family's granddaughter accidentally drowned. One of the local channels here decided to air the tragic 911 call from the frantic mother (this was after the girl was dead). A lot of people complained to the station, but poetic justice was to be had. It turns out the station, which had a contract to air local Browns games got this big moneymaker taken from them because...... the granddaughter that died was the granddaughter of the guy who OWNS (or OWNED - I'm getting forgetful) the BROWNS.

Anyway, these media leaches are the worst parasites.

The guy taught school in Petaluma, CA, until he was caught with child porn sometime around 2001. His wife divorced him then over it.

Now his ex-wife, she was interviewed tonight and said they lived in Alabama in 1996 and that he and she and their children spent all of the Christmas holidays together.

She has every reason to stick it to him about this and she didn't.

Thai police confirm arrest of suspect in murder of JonBenet Ramsey

BANGOK, Thailand Thai police have confirmed the arrest of an American suspect in the 1996 slaying of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey. The body of the six-year-old beauty queen was found in her parents Boulder, Colorado, home.

Thai immigration authorities say the suspect was arrested today at his apartment in downtown Bangkok. An official says the suspect, identified by U-S authorities as John Mark Karr, is considered an "undesirable person." Still, Thai police say Karr has not committed any crime in Thailand.

In countries such as Thailand, child sexual exploitation builds on a long-standing and vast prostitution industry. It also thrives where law enforcement is weak or corrupt. The victims are usually from impoverished backgrounds.

Ramsey suspect nabbed at Bangkok home
SUTIN WANNABOVORN
Associated Press
BANGKOK, Thailand - The suspect in the death of JonBenet Ramsey denied any connection to her murder when he was arrested at his downtown Bangkok apartment Wednesday, police said.

Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul said Thursday that John Mark Karr was regarded as an "undesirable person" because he was accused of committing a crime in the United States and thus his visa has been revoked.

U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the 42-year-old American was being held in Bangkok on unrelated sex charges.

But Suwat, who heads the country's immigration police, said he was unaware of any criminal charges facing the suspect in Thailand.

The thick plottens.

I'd like to see a timeline of events from the moment JonBenet was known to be missing or found dead, whichever came first, up to the present day. Who found her body and where? Had her body been cleaned/moved/cried over (tears dripped on her body)/tampered with at all, etc. Was there a murder weapon and if so, where was it? Where were the family members at the time of the murder? Etc., etc...

This case caused an uneasy feeling in me the moment I heard about it, maybe just because a beautiful little girl was dead the day after Christmas, but I don't know.

What I DO know is that Patsy Ramsey creeped me out from the first time I saw/heard her talk, and she seemed to be the one who "wore the pants" in the family. I also found her (what I consider to be) exploitation/abuse of her daughter re the gaudy makeup and beauty pageants suspicious, though I'm not sure to what degree. I do believe she was pretty doped up on tranquilizers early on, which is to be expected under the circumstances, and that may have tainted my first impressions of her.

I surely don't want to unduly slam the Ramseys or speak ill of the deceased, I'd just like to know more about the sequence of events, since I didn't follow the case closely at the time.

Use that, because it would take me too much time to explain it all to you! Many people, myself included, have followed this crime the whole 10 years. Lots of detail!

I, for one, am one of those who owes this family an apology. With only access to the limited facts, I had them tried and convicted in my mind.

Me too. I feel like a part of the "hi-tech lynching" that Clarence Thomas once spoke of.

I'm genuinely ashamed for what I felt.

Hmmmm, arrested at his apartment? That sortof short-circuits the whole I'd rather be in a U.S. jail thing.

Strange.

in the email its john and jen k, assuming jen is john's wife here...

john mark karr, the suspect, his ex-wife's name is Lara Karr, not jen.
a search for "john karr" brings up many, many results.

and his ex-wife claims he was in alabama the day the murder occured.

i dont think he did it...not until the DNA proves it.
