Well Happy Birthday.

It's mother in laws too, but I don't think she really cares who wins. :)

Sure wish you could have seen Jr running earlier, he had THE hot rod.

In-Car package, shows the interval behind leader...I could not believe how fast Jr was closing the gap. I'm used to seeing it go the other way, if ya know what I mean.

That pit stop sure hurt him, d*** it!

Speaking of DJ, anyone know what happened? Black flagged for smoke, to the garage and done...did not hear any specifics.

Good race.

LOL never could figure out why we were changing to the metric system. Now it's obvious, everything comes from overseas.

Jr. got beat by the old man! His car may have been fast, but not fast enough! Bump for MM (+2)!

Oh but I did see that part of the race. I would not work on Sunday if there wasn't a TV.

I'm sure they have their new engine packages beginning with this race. Sure looked like it.

Stripped lugnut!!

Don't know any more about DJ than you posted.

Jeremy has a sponsor lined up and will go to BDR next year.

The news is getting hotter again re: Yates and Rubby!! :) I actually like that idea.

I hope you saw the post race interview with Jr and Mark. It was priceless, Jr said he was honored to race with a veteran like Mark. In his mind he pictures that as one of his top 5 racing experiences to race the veterans who are the greatest drivers. He really made Mark feel great and they shook hands, it was just a magic moment.

I paraphrased that but he just always honors the veteran drivers, unlike many of the younger guns these days whose world only revolves around themselves.

I saw them, and grinned. I thought he was piling it on, honestly. But, it pays to give honor where due! Now Saturday...

The Future..

NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip test drives the Toyota Camry at Michigan International Speedway Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, in Brooklyn, Mich. Some of NASCAR's top drivers took the new Toyota Camry for a spin as Nextel Cup teams consider the brand's future in the sport. (AP Photo/Jerry S. Mendoza)

He really does respect all the veteran drivers. His friendship with DJ is well known. He's sort of like Jr's surrogate Dad.

He even asked Terry Labonte to drive the 88 Navy car at Watkins Glen two weeks ago cause he said he's such a great driver & that he wanted him in there....even came by to fit him with a seat....but Terry is a right foot breaker & the pedals were set up for left foot braking.... so they got Truex to drive it with permission from DEI.
