State bars abortions at 2 clinics in Orlando
Orlando Sentinel ^ | August 17, 2006 | Robyn Shelton

Posted on 08/17/2006 10:35:20 AM PDT by Brytani

The state has ordered two Orlando clinics to stop doing abortions indefinitely and suspended the medical license of their owner, Dr. James Pendergraft, on grounds that he illegally performed third-trimester abortions.

The restrictions began last week at one Orlando location, and by Wednesday, all five of Pendergraft's offices statewide had been ordered to stop providing abortions.

Paul Hill would be proud. Of course his way of dealing with abortion doctors was just as wrong.

Many to go but how many did they kill a day? Assuming 50 and that the women didn't go elsewhere, that is 100 future brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, teachers, nurses, doctors, etc a day that may have been saved.

Good to see.

Without getting too specific on my views on abortion (ground I've been over many times in real life and other places on the net), I'll just say that I find late-term abortions stomach-churning.

When I was 10 years-old or so, I caught a show on PBS called The Silent Scream. That definitely set my views in stone on late-term abortions for the rest of my life. It showed an ultrasound of an abortion, and the moment that vacuum hose reached the child and began its cruel business, you could clearly see the baby's mouth shoot open in what could only be horrible pain, hence the name of the documentary.

I wonder if PBS as it is today would air another documentary of this kind? The show was clearly anti-abortion.

Neither PBS nor any of the other networks will EVER show such a program again. It should be required viewing of any woman contemplating infanticide.

"Illegallu performed????"

Well THAT would be it was a "back alley" abortion.

The left INSISTS that they do not happen anymore.

NONE of them ever happened in an actual alley.

from the Florida Statutes-

(3) It is unlawful for any person to perform or assist in performing an abortion on a person in the third trimester other than in a hospital. (4) Any person who willfully violates any provision of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

I did a great deal of research into Florida law a year and a half ago -- from what I can see, the authorities their view the law as more of a set of "suggestions" to be used based on convenience.

Here's a few that they ignored:

Michael Schiavo claimed to be Terri's "husband" yet he was living with and having children with another woman.

The overall treatment of Terri Schiavo:

What kind of souless evil women would have late term abortions. Early abortions are barbaric enough but to wait until the unborn baby could possibly live outside the mother's body is unforgivable.

In the recent shutting down of the Birmingham, AL clinic, wasn't one of the first things was the suspension of license because of some of the activity there (late May, early June).

I wonder if this might make some clinics collapse. Most businesses cannot continue to stay in business if their license is suspended.

It might shut down one of the 5 offices or more if enough bad doings are exposed. (Hey, its an abortion business, bad things happen...)

WHA---??!!! No abortions in a back alley? No rusty coat hangers? But all the liberals say they carried the bodies out of the back alleys every day, and fed them to the pigs, and didn't wash the coat hangers for the next day.

You are just ruining my illusions.

Paul Hill's methods were extremely wrong. OTOH he killed only those directly responsible for mass murder of innocents and the bodyguard of same. He had a more worthy class of victims which STILL did not justify what he did. Personally, I wish his victims had lived to repent their crimes against God and humanity.

That abortion clinic was only about 3 miles from my house. I remember it like it was yesterday. We drove by the place about 30 minutes after it happened, not knowing the reason for all the police cars and ambulances. We heard about it on the news later, it was shocking. He went to his grave believing he was in the right. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall on his Judgement Day.

Dr. James Pendergraft

"Pendergraft's medical license was suspended Wednesday in an emergency order that claims he has shown "a flagrant disregard for the laws of the state of Florida and a willingness to endanger the lives and health of pregnant patients."

"Pendergraft has been dogged by controversy ever since he was initially convicted -- then cleared -- in an extortion case involving his business associate."

"Paul Hill would be proud"? I doubt it.

Paul Hill would want the death penalty for the abortionist (even if inflicted by himself) and (if I can extrapolate from his published statements) would be contemptuous of this frail, fragmentary enforcement of a frail, fragmentary law.

However, you've got to start somewhere, and I recognize it as a start. If we would enforce the laws we already have, promptly, vigorously, and to the hilt, we could probably shut a lot more of them down.

It took tax fraud charges to bring down Al Capone, right? That --- and hygiene, licensing, and zoning laws --- could probably shut down a lot more abortionists. Come on, police chiefs, prosecutors: what are you waiting for?

The laws are not perfect, far from it. But no one has the right to take the law in their own hands and become Judge, Jury and Executioner. If we allow people to do that it would be opening a Pandora's Box of unbelievable magnitude. I agree that there are more ways of skinning a cat and any avenue that puts these clinics out of business legally should be persued. We should start by getting Rowe v. Wade overturned.

Because his way of dealing with the problem is as bad as the problem itself. Granted, the abortion doctor and his bodyguard were hardly innocent like an unborn baby but executing them like they did to the unborn is equally as wrong. The Pro-Life, Anti-Abortion movement got a huge black eye (just like the bombing in Atlanta) by extremist whackos like Hill. Incidents like this only garner further resistence to the cause.
