President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad insists that nuclear power is Iran's right and "no one will stop us" developing the country.
In an interview with Britain's Guardian newspaper, he said a United Nations resolution insisting on the suspension of its nuclear activities was U.S.-inspired and would fail.
"They are trying to deny our right to develop nuclear power. But no one can impose anything on the Iranian people. They will not succeed," he said while on a campaign tour of the north of his country.
"Our main task is to develop and build the Iranian nation. No one will stop us."
Iran has insisted it is enriching uranium to generate electricity from nuclear power. The United States, Britain, France and Germany among others fear it is a cloak to disguise a program to build nuclear weapons.
The U.N. Security Council passed a resolution at the end of July calling on Iran to suspend uranium enrichment by August 31.
Iran has set itself an August 22 deadline to respond to an offer of economic incentives designed to persuade it to comply with the suspension demand.
The Lord will stop him. A Messiah he wants, THE Messiah he will get.
Your next Ahmadinewad!
Seemingly, this is not the IDF of 1967 or 1973. The Israeli armed forces were not prepared to fight this enemy on the ground. They were ill trained, ill equipped, and their intelligence was not that good. Political leadership was weak and vacillating. It was a recipe for failure.
With any luck the Israeli government will fall soon and Netanyahu will become Prime Minister. The IDF will regroup and rearm and the next round will go to Israel.
Unfortunately I think he's right.
The lame ducks in Wasshington have vanished into the woodwork.
The Democrats won't stop him.
The Euroweenies can't grovel low enough before the Islamic boots (or sandals).
McCain or Giuliani lack the ability to do so.
Only Tancredo or Allen or Gingrich is capable of adequately dealing with these fiends.
ShortManSyndrome. It can be fatal.
Words escape me. That should be copyrighted.
How short does one need to be in order to qualify for the short man syndrome?
Thanks for the idea!
WOW............ some short guys can be real dangerous.
Height alone does not dictate that one will have or get this syndrome. You can be less than tall and still never develop it. This guy Ahmadinejad however, oh he's got it...bad. LOL
****
That's a very good thought (imo), but I think the whole thing is much more convoluted than that.
However..... I don't have a clue on who is pulling the strings.
All I know (feel) is that the strings are fraying and it looks like there is little or no way to stop this serious crap that is right around the corner.
.... soon.
Any man who thinks he's too short.
One thing for sure, if Iran tries to take out Israel it is going to be the Ezekiel Option all over again.
Rice is not the person responsible for making final decisions on US foreign policy. She implements it. The WH and the NSC are the prime movers with the buck stopping at the President. Rice should not be made the scapegoat. It's wrong and dishonest.
