WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following was released today by the Democratic National Committee:
During today's news conference, President Bush pledged not to attack the patriotism of his critics. This stunning reversal comes after years of work by the President and his top surrogates and strategists to smear anyone who disagrees with the President or challenges his policies.
"President Bush seems to have turned over a new leaf today with his claim that he will not attack the patriotism of those who disagree with him," said DNC Communications Director Karen Finney, "If the President is sincere, he should have his GOP hatchet men like Vice President Cheney, Karl Rove and Ken Mehlman also stop attacking the patriotism of those who disagree with the Bush Administration's failed policies in Iraq and agree to provide the American people an honest debate based on the facts on the ground."
President Bush: I will never question the patriotism of somebody who disagrees with me. (Press Conference, 8/21/06)
BUSH CAMPAIGN ATTACKED JOHN KERRY'S PATRIOTISM
Bush Campaign Surrogate Scott O'Grady Charged Kerry With "Treason." Scott O'Grady, an Air Force pilot who survived being shot down over Bosnia in 1995, said that Kerry committed "treason" during the Vietnam War during an appearance coordinated by the Bush re-election campaign with other military veterans in St. Paul, Minnesota. Jeez, is old weird Howie projecting again?
The reason the Defeatocrats are so nervous about they are preceived on the issue of patriotism is because they don't much care about this country.
They are "international citizens".
The enemy LOVES Democrats!!!!
Please don't post DNC toilet paper.
Thanks
Sounds like their press release is a smear . . . IMHO.
Questioning their patriotism? Big deal. Howard Dean entertained notions that The President and his administration may have had prior knowledge/complicity in 9-11.
Here's an honest Dem talking about patriotism:
"The entire country may disagree with me, but I don't understand the necessity for patriotism"--Natalie Maines
Let's hope not.
President Bush may not attack their Patriotism, But I sure do,
Traitorous bunch of Democrat bastids.
You mean the Dhimmicrats!
As for now; nothing shown, nothing questioned.
The Democrats question Bush's honesty, integrety, intelligence, mental stability, and motives but don't you evil Republicans dare question their patriotism. WAAAAAAH!!
And I say that Kerry has committed treason every day since.
freep the crybabies here:

Yeah, I figured Bush's statement just reflected his boredom with stating the obvious.
Actually it's "Waaa, they're telling the truth."
I don't recall Bush (or Cheney for that matter) ever questioning their patriotism. Bush & Cheney question their judgement, and their ideas. They then, instead of respondng in kind, say their patriotism was questioned. It is dishonest and cynical.
Mr. President,
With all due respect, the Democrats have continually advertised, with the help of the MSM, that they want us to lose in Iraq, Afghanistan and all other parts in the WOT, they are unpatriotic and traitors who deserve to be put on trial for treason.
Thank you,
Toby Hill
Cute stunt. Make false accusations that the President has "questioned their patriotism." When the President points out that they're wrong on national security -- not because of their patriotism but because of their stupidity, they pretend that that is some kind of an apology for what he'd never done in the first place.
I've never seen such a bunch of dishonest whiney babies as today's democrats.
Right....
They don't deserve a Joe Liebermann...
and now they don't have him They lose Senate
because of the fiasco with Joe... LOL..... Jake
"reflected his boredom with stating the obvious.'
Maybe, but much of life is boring, and many of our responsibilities are boring. What's obvious to W. (and I'm not sure it is) isn't necesarily obvious to the independent voters, weak Republicans, and conservative Democrats -- to the people, in other words, who determine the outcome of every election.
Bush has gotten into a lot of trouble over the years by being bored, and by not trying hard enough.
