LOS ANGELES - If not for scheming teen Andrew Van De Camp on ABC's megahit Desperate Housewives and Dr. Kerry Weaver on the long-running ER on NBC, the only regular gay or lesbian character on a returning broadcast network show this fall would be a closeted accountant named Oscar on NBC's The Office.

There should be 2.7% of the characters and 90% of all aids cases on TV characters should be homosexuals.
If they want a REALISTIC quota, lets give them a realistic quota.

shep is gay?.......but really, I could care less....he doesn't throw it in our faces.....
OTOH.....the new show "DEAL OR NO DEAL" had one contestant who was a flaming fruitcake of a gay, and I resented the network for putting that piece of trash on.....
but gays pretty much get what they want, and if they want their image to be that of the flaming fruitcake, they are suceeding....

BTW, I have a good plot---two gay guys who don't like show tunes, drink a lotta beer(the decor of their pad is Reconstituted Anheuser-Busch), never been to a gym or a disco (I guess these people exist somewhere)

straight men are portrayed as stupid, narrominded, unable to control money, homophobic, clods, and just plain in need of enlightenment.
Just look at the washington mutual commercial, you have a black man who holds all the white back executives in an "coral" while they spout off "ignorant statemetns". If the race was reversed, it would cause riots in the street.
Of course we can extend this to all sitcoms and shows.
The message to straight men on the networks? Networks don't want you as a viewer.

"...was released this week by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation." Now that the Hollywierd Homo-Mafia has infested all programing with homo characters, they are not satisfied until homosexuality is thought of as normal behavior.
All the more reason to keep the TV off.

To: Dubya; All
Gays are represented too much as far as I'm concerned, far more than the demographic of the total American population deserves. There's at most, 3%-5% of the population that is gay, and that's being VERY generous. It's likely no more than 1% and a few tenths. There may not be permanent flaming gay characters thanks to Book of Daniel's four week late demise, and Queer and Grace being cancelled FINALLY, but there are ALWAYS queers being paraded across various tv shows of all kinds. Can't hardly watch anything without some queer in it at some point. Not to mention movies. They're even worse. And it's always done as though it's funny, and not something that offends well over half the American people, which it does contrary to liberal propaganda that most people don't mind. MOST people VERY MUCH mind having it flaunted unexpectedly before them, especially with their kids watching. From where I sit, the Weaver character on ER is one permanent gay character too many on TV shows.
Besides, most gays like being in the closet and having the privacy about their sexual orientation so much, why should gay characters on TV shows always have to be out of the closet that most gays in the real world prefer to remain inside? That's a logic buster.

You can't turn on the tv without seeing a homo, or getting homo inuendos shoved in your face! What is poetic justice is that the movie "Brokeback Mountain" was supposed to "break down barriers" and stereotypes about homosexual relationships.
But in the end (no pun intended), the word "Brokeback" has only become an adjective to mock latent homosexual behavior in general. The word "Brokeback" is used in almost every homosexual joke.

The frickin Sapranos this season had a gay storyline! Ruined the whole season. But I should of suspected that sooner, than later, Homo Box Office would do it.
Including a scene were a mobster is making out with a guy dressed like the singer from Judas Priest in a grassy field.
