The five-hour miniseries (aired over two nights) is based on the 9/11 Commission report, and also on ABC News correspondent John Millers book, "The Cell." ABC is going to air the first three hours on Sunday, September 10, and the final two hours (which culminate in a shattering depiction of 9/11) on Monday, September 11.
*Based on the 9/11 Commission Report*, *Honest depiction of the clinton administration's poll-driven disastrous policies*, *Pro-American*, *ABC*. I'm having a very hard time wrapping my mind around the possibility this could actually be GOOD. But I've been surprised before.
Better to look like bunglers than abettors.
Better
I know this is not NC-centered, but something I suspect every list should ping. Why not ours?
No show that fails to mention Jaime Gorelick could possibly detail the events leading up to 9/11 with accuracy.
uh oh spoke too soon, I agree about jamie
Saw two advertisting previews for it on ABC. The one which ran during This Week showed a frustrated guy saying that "this administration" is doing nothing to stop them. The one airing during our local news was much more clearly showing the Clinton Era bungling.
Maybe they couldn't find anyone to play her. Too bad Tom Cruise wasn't released from Paramount in time. He would've made a good Gorelick.
Now we know what was in Berger's pants and socks..............
I did feel a bit extra groggy this morning, maybe it was the lightning storm last night...
I remember an interview with Sandy Burgler just after 9/11. Burgler was asked when he thought the planning had started for 9/11 and Burgler said "Sometime in March or April of 2001"! He said this to deflect blame for the ineptness of the Clintoons in fighting the threat from Al Quaeda. He knew darn well that the planning for 9/11 had taken years and not months to evolve and that most of the planning was done while Clinton was chasing interns in the White House.
I will be glad to watch this show, if what Mr. Murty says is true. I don't want a conservative slanted piece or one that bashes Clinton. I want the facts presented as they happened as best as they can tell it in an interesting narrative. I hate white washes and hit pieces. I hate slanted political statements. Just tell the story as it happened, warts and all and let us make up our own minds. I felt that the film United 93 did just that. It wasn't particularly kind to the Bush Administration, but it wasn't a propaganda hit piece either. It gave us the facts through the point of view of the FAA and military trying to figure what was going on.
But it is disturbing that ABC hasn't advirtised this at all. This is the first I'm hearing about this. Could it be that the network was taken aback by the production's strict adherence to the facts so much so it paints their "Messiah" Clinton in such a bad light that they feel the less people who watch it, the better? They're in this thing $40 million, so they have to broadcast it, but it doesn't mean people have to watch it.
I guess we'll have to see for ourselves.
The pre-view will give CAIR time to start their whine and the Clinton team to prepare their spin.
We can anticipate plenty of both - whining and spinning - before and after this mini-series airs.
