The idea of a woman president is not so abstract now that the 2008 election nears, Lynne Cheney, wife of vice president Dick Cheney said Wednesday.
"If you're thinking of Condi Rice, I think she has good credentials," Cheney said.
During an appearance sponsored by the Aspen Institute, Cheney talked mostly about education and history but did venture into current politics, including the possibility of women running for president. She did not mention New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, widely thought to be considering a presidential run in 2008.
"(National security) is the driving issue," Cheney said. "The stereotype exists that women are softer. Maybe it's not true. I don't think it's true. But it's a little bit of a challenge to overcome for a woman president."

Yep. I'd like it to be either Condi or Newt.
She's their worst nightmare.
That doesn't make her the best candidate, but it's better than nothing.
Why is that? I don't even know anything about her that would particularly qualify her compared to the rest of the field.
How come the Party of Tolerance, the Party of Acceptance, the Party of Inclusion, never appointed a woman (and a gorgeous one at that) to be Secretary of State?

Condi allowed herself to be snookered by the French over the M.E. cease-fire. She's no Maggie Thatcher, unfortunately.

One wonders how many times Ms. Rice must say she's not running for some people to get it through their thick skulls.
Yeah, why would we want an articulate, EXTREMELY well educated individual (to the point of almost being a child prodigy) with experience in multiple Presidential administrations and several years under her belt as Secretary of State for President. Did we mention this is an individual who basically pulled themselves up by the bootsraps when they had everything in the world going against them and yet this person is basically good natured and not bitter at all despite previous hardships?
Why would we want someone like that in leadership?

Neither was Bill Clinton (the last time he was elected Governor of Arkansas). Wouldn't dream of it.
After the mess she created with Lebanon and Israel, we dont need any more of that.

A lot. That would make Hillary Clinton a liar if she runs. But Hillary Clinton hasn't announced she is running for president, has she? I know it seems impossible for some here to imagine, but there is a chance she still might not even run for president in 2008.
