The president spoke with UN SG Kofi Annan about the international force being assembled for Lebanon; the Iranian regime's statement on its nuclear program; and the need to improve the situation in Darfur. He attended a fundraiser for Senator George Allen, R-VA.

President Bush met with Rockey Vaccarella, Louisiana victim of Hurricane Katrina, to discuss rebuilding efforts there.

Probably my favorite threads here on FR. So refreshing to find genuine enthusiasm for the President. No, he doesn't get everything right--who does? But only history, it seems, and not even his supposed supporters will understand the job he's done. I still don't think many here, even, appreciate how 9-11 could have started a Depression and a decline of the US. That it didn't is in large part due to the Americans who refused to knuckle under and hate ourselves as the libs wanted us to, but also to GWB.

I can hardly believe I was third. I'm slow as Christmas because of my webtv, and I didn't even see you until your #10. I know...the others must be slow in getting here (for some reason). Anyway, what an uplifting visit the President was paid today!

Hi Darkwolf, I agree on everything you wrote. Wish the whole world would wake up and "get it." In the meantime, I'll happily settle for having a president who "gets it," who understands what national defense truly means, and leads by personal example, taking the hits that would knock down lesser men, but he bounces back every time.

His strength is in the Lord our God and the wisdom W shows is drawn straight from the Almighty. I can't thank God enough for giving us this president.

Well, she's taking her orders from the president. If that is your read on it, and if you pray, then pray for him to know the right course and act accordingly.

They seemed to take to each other, be very comfortable. I got the impression from W's remarks (with Rockey) to the press that W thought Rockey had a lot of guts and determination, just the sort of thing that this president admires.
