The customary noon Eucharist at Washington National Cathedral will be enhanced Saturday to remember the events of 9/11. The Rev. John Bryson Chane will offer the homily and the Rev. A. Theodore Eastman will celebrate Holy Eucharist in the Cathedral nave.

Arlington :
On Saturday at 9:30 a.m., Arlington County will pause to remember the lives lost at the Pentagon on 9/11 and to honor those who responded to the attack. The public is invited to attend the brief observance at Courthouse Plaza, 2100 Clarendon Blvd.
On Saturday, as part of the national September Project, Arlington Public Library will host a panel discussion with Arlington's General Assembly delegation on "Gerrymandering, Negative Campaigning and Threats to Democracy," addressing why many Americans feel disaffected from the electoral process. The event will be held at Central Library, 1015 N. Quincy St., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call (703) 228-3348 or visit www.arlingtonva.us to access the Department of Libraries web pages.
The Arlington County Volunteer Office is seeking volunteers who wish to remember 9/11 with a day of service, charity and compassion. Register online or call (703) 228-1760.
First responders and the Arlington Girls Softball Association will host the third annual First Responders Cup, a three-day softball tournament, commemorating 9/11 and involving more than 200 girls and their families from communities directly affected by the terrorist attacks. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Vice-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Peter Pace will participate in a wreath laying ceremony in Arlington in observance of the victims of 9/11. The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and includes a moment of silence at 9:37 a.m.

So for those who had stated they are a " Great American " ; and wish to back up their saying they " SUPPORT AMERICA " - and want to somehow show their Reverence & Respect for those Innocents who had Lost Their Lives on that day of a such a Cowardly, Murderous , Unprovoked Attack -

MEMORIAL EVENTS:
Major Ones:
New York City -- World Trade Center Site Memorial Ceremony and Remembrance
The official City and State commemorative events for September 11th will be held again this year at the World Trade Center site. This year spouses, partners, and significant others will deliver the reading of the names of the victims during the ceremony, while music will provide a backdrop throughout the program. The program is scheduled to end at noon, but, as in previous years, family members will be able to descend to the lowest level of the site to pay respects and lay flowers until 3 pm. Spouses, partners, and significant others who wish to read names during the ceremony should call 212-442-8953 or email
cferer@cityhall.nyc.gov by July 26, 2006. The selection for the reading of names will be determined by lottery. The "Tribute in Light" will again return at sundown. More details to follow.

New York City Americas 9-11 Memorial Quilt Dedication and Viewing
The following memorial quilts will be on display Friday, September 8, 2006 from 4:00PM to 9:00PM: 9-11 Victims Memorial Quilt, EMS Memorial Quilt, Port Authority Civilian Memorial Quilt and FDNY Memorial Quilt. The Pace University 9/11 Vigil is an event headed by the Civic Traditions Committee from the Office of Housing and Residential Life. It is an event where we take a night to remember those that were lost and were affected by the events of September 11th. This year is the 5th annual candlelight vigil that we are having. We hold the vigil at the main entrance at I Pace Plaza and after some type of remembrance either by way of having people speak or just a moment of silence, we proceed to walk towards the World Trade Center Site
New York City -- "The Bellevue Hospital Wall of Prayer" Memorial
The Bellevue Hospital Wall of Prayer Memorial will be on display from September 1 - 8, 2006 at the Museum of the City of New York: 1220 5th Avenue at 103rd Street, New York, NY 10029
New York City -- "Faces of Ground Zero, Portraits of the Heroes of September 11, 2001"
To mark the fifth anniversary of 9/11, 50 images from Joe McNallys "Faces of Ground Zero, Portraits of the Heroes of September 11, 2001," 246-image collection will be exhibited from September 7, October 1 at the New York City Fire Museum.
