"I refuse to be pulled into the politics of war. But once these soldiers sign up, go to war and come back to a hospital, I will do whatever it takes to make them better."
This is a couple of months old, but I decided to post it because Miss Nicks' attitude is such a nice contrast to those of Willie Nelson, Barbra Streisand, et al.

Class. Makes me want to go play one of her records again, a lovely lady of class.

Were the iPods loaded with songs with her billy-goat voice?

Compare and contrast to the putrid harpies of Code Pink, who stand outside VA hospitals and veterans' funerals and wave vile signs.

If you were a sick vet, wouldn't you want at least one of her songs on your iPod? I would. Almost everything she ever sang was luminous, gorgeous, soulful and orginal.

Were the iPods loaded with songs with her billy-goat voice?" Nicks has provided iPods loaded with her music, along with fellow artists Aerosmith and Elvis Presley.
Reading isn't your strong point eh?

Nice find. Thanks for posting this. It contrasts well with the recent post about the barking moonbat Linda Ronstadt.
Bless Stevie for the good she is doing for out troops.

So how many i-pods have you sent to wounded soldiers? Not a good place for your snotty remarks.
To: Huntress
Good for her. This is the way the true Movie and Musical Stars of old regarded our soldiers. Only difference is their true support of our war efforts.

Maybe Martha Stewart can provide the hard fighting troops with some elegant table napkins, and Paul Newman with jars of his "Paul's Own" spaghetti sauce? Any other idee-errsfor the celebrities we worship? Oh yes, and Paris Hilton could provide her used underwear to the troops guarding the Abu Ghraib prison.

What a nice thing to do. I want our guys to have as much as possible to entertain them and to tell them how very much we care about and appreciate them.

Hey, more power to her. I'm glad she is doing something positive. She just has a voice that not everyone likes.

"I refuse to be pulled into the politics of war." Her actions speak much louder than mere words.............

It's nice to know that no matter how nice someone is, there's someone on FR to make a snotty uncalled for remark.

It was a joke. "billy-goat voiced" wasn't used because it is a colorful metaphor, but in reference to an episode of South Park. Next time, think before you jump down other members throats. Thanks.

Aside from playing at Clintoon's convention, I'll give her accolades too.
But I still live in the 70's.

Saw her years ago at Folk City on West Fourth Street (where Dylan once played) when she was the female half of Buckingham Nicks.
