Real Journalism is now on the Internet. Let the TV nets die - everyone will, within a decade or two, have everything on-demand and online. Heck, TV itself could be in danger. the only places you'll find a birdcage liner will be at Starbucks. The sooner the better.
Nonetheless, I'm happy and thank the Lord for Centanni and the Kiwi cameraman, and their families, but my BS-meter is pegged right now.
Nobody, NOBODY, ever heard of the group that kidnapped Steve and Olaf; or so everyone claimed. Nobody, but NOBODY, knew where they were; or so it was claimed. Yet this group made several videos and were able to get them out to the proper people, so that they were shown?
They made an absolutely ridiculous demand ( that EVERY SINGLE Muslim held anywhere be freed ) and when the time limit passed, they show a video of Steve and Olaf "converting to Islam" and let them go the next day?
And Steve and Olaf them come on camera and say that nobody, NOBODY should be afraid to go to Gaza to report the lovely, kind, gentle, wonderful, poor abused Palis' side of the story?

True enough, but neither did he have to say that bit. He could just as easily have said how happy and thankful he was to be free and left it at that.
FRiend, I smell it from here, too. J-school "grads", whose accreditation is being able to sit still for makeup session and/or take an elective in typing a coherent sentence, are still in a competitive industry - first on the story (truth is irrelevant these days), and Bleeding Leads are still written in stone.

I think they're both suffering a bit of Stockholm Syndrome, and I also think Centanni (despite the hell he must have gone through) wants access. I'd give Centanni the benefit if the doubt. He strikes me as a very driven person who wants to get he story out, and I rather doubt he really feels about Islam what he portends to feel.
The Palis who did this to them need to be BITCH slapped in the media.
