the Pals are such lovely lovely people.... Of course there is no reason for other reporters to 'not' cover their story.....(sarc)

The ONLY solution to arafat's gangsters and maggots, is to place a "clean" and "nice" blanket of MOABS over Gaza, NOW!!!

Nope, the STOCKHOLM SYNDROME takes longer than 13 days to set in. He and Olaf just want to go back to their dear, dear, lovely pals in Gaza and tell the world how marvelous those poor people and how they have been so put upon by those horrid Israelis.

It ONLY took 6 days in Stockholm!!!

Centanni said that during his capture, he was held at times face down in a dark garage, tied up in painful positions, and that he and Wiig were forced at gunpoint to make statements, including that they had converted to Islam.

Islam and guns

Islam and murder

Islam winning "converts" with the threat of death ...

This brings up an interesting question for me. I wonder if either man believed in Christ as his Savior before this "conversion" to Islam.

After 444 days or so, the released American captives didn't have "kind words" about Islam nor their jailers in Lebanon.

Doesn't the Stockholm Syndrome require the captor to show some kindness to the hostages, or cause the hostages to have some reason to feel gratitude? I'm not saying that very well -- can't come up with the right words. Of course, all of this is extremely twisted, but hostage takers ARE all of that and more.

Well, I find this criticism unseemly. People held hostage and gunpoint may do or say any number of things to save their lives. Why one would think Centani owed the public a martyr's death or a foolish attack on Palestinians while still in Gaza after being released, I can't imagine.

Even St. Peter denied Christ, yet was forgiven. POW's during Viet Nam made public "confessions" under duress.

All of us are weak, and no one, from the comfort of our homes, can say what we would do in such a situation.

Gotta love some of these responses from some of these so called Christians. When Centanni was captured it was let's pray for him. Now that he's safe, it's damn him to hell for trying to stay alive.

How 'bout this? Next time someone is taken captive these same people those people can pray for him and hope he makes it out alive, but if they should force him to make a confession he should die and have his head lopped off.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Beautiful people...

Well, as far as I am concerned my prayers were answered, and I thank God they are alive.

I wonder if any of these people would be willing to say this stuff to Centani's face...or to Brit Hume's. Pfui.

Sometimes I think people view news as a television drama, and are looking for "Hollywood" endings. As I said, it is unseemly.

Maybe they don't want to get kidnapped again. They're journalists -- and the news is in the Middle East. If they want to go back, then they did the smart thing.

The Palestinians are animals.

Since his release I've heard Steve say otherwise. Stockholm syndrome? The clear thinking human instinct would be your observation.

How many on this thread have actually been held captive by terrorists, and can realistically say how they would act?

FRiend, I smell it from here, too. J-school "grads", whose accreditation is being able to sit still for makeup session and/or take an elective in typing a coherent sentence, are still in a competitive industry - first on the story (truth is irrelevant these days), and Bleeding Leads are still written in stone. ----- Fox News Channel's newsies are, by far, no exception. After all, who wants to be an outcast in Manhattan? ----- Pray and Curse. I like to do both at the same time.

That was my favorite post of yours (so far).

I don't know if you have seen this before, but I must have posted this of my own about a thousand times over the years.

The socialist/marxist/liberal media is the most destructive, relentless, and ruthless enemy of this Republic.

Here are a couple other of my favorites by others:

Do not fear the enemy, for your enemy can only take your life. It is far better that you fear the press, for they will steal your HONOR. "We were forced to convert to Islam at gunpoint," Centanni told FOX News. "Don't get me wrong here. I have the highest respect for Islam, and I learned a lot of good things about it"

Excuse me while I puke.

This criticism makes me so mad. We don't know what they went through. Steve and Olaf looked pretty shaken up to me in the video showing their release. Whether we like it or not, these types of journalists have a brotherhood. When they are at these remote location, staying in close quarters, I am sure they all get to know each other pretty well. I would think that they want to neutralize things to keep theother journalists out of harms way if possible. Not to mention the safety of their families back home.

Something that has escaped me (and others) and I'm curious about, is the process by which they were subjected to in converting to Islam?

What did they make them do, put their hands (and which one as they only eat with their left) on the Qu'ran and swear to Allah they would henceforth be members in good standing and uphold the values and traditions of this "Religion of Peace?" all the while with a gun pointed at their heads?

Detail, details!!! Inquiring minds want to know.

I'll give them benefit of doubt (and a week) to publicly denounce their captors and make it known they are renouncing this forced conversion to this gutter religion, then all bets are off--although I wouldn't bet the farm that this will come to pass.

I agree with you, but I think saying anything against them would put all westerners (journalists and others) in danger of being shot on site or kidnapped. If people don't already know that palestinians are scum, no future amount of kidnappings and murders will convince them, so I think it's more of a safety measure to not slam them publicly after being released.

Oh, I'm certain this is a great relief to them. I'm sure your approval must be foremost in their minds right now.

The Palestinians are animals.

When a Palestinian says "The Jews are animals" the good people of FR rightfully condemn him as a racist.

When you say "The Palestinians are animals" that is also racist.
