It makes me wonder if the alphabet networks haven't been producing fake news ever since they realized the power of television.
What I wonder is why they're still either a) trying to get away with it, or b) continuing with sloppy habits that get them into trouble. After what happened to Rather, it astounds me that Reuters let that Photoshopped photo get through. A six-year-old could see that it had been altered, and yet they either didn't review it, or ran it despite the obviousness of the fakery.

Probably because the fraud we have caught is such a tiny, tiny fraction of the fraud they produce everyday, that it is just considered totally insignificant.
