Sad. My husband and I were running all over San Fran yesterday on many of those same streets and I have a knee injury that prevents me from walking very fast. I would have been a sitting duck for him. Sorry it happened but I'm glad it wasn't yesterday.

Hmmm, can't find anything on Ohmeed Aziz Popal, but there is a reference to a Ahmed Aziz Popal...arrested in Canada back in 1998 for smuggling an Afghan woman into Canada. Probably not the same guy, but you never know. Maybe he changed his first name to slip into the USA without an arrest history.

Ahmed Aziz Popal, 39, pleaded guilty to two counts of aiding and abetting the smuggling of the woman and child in Richmond provincial court on Wednesday. Popal, who lives in Toronto, Ontario, arrived with the woman and child at Vancouver International Airport on a flight from Kuala Lumpur on Jan. 16. Popal used a fraudulent Afghanistan passport and a genuine Canadian record of landing document to smuggle the pair.
